An opportunity has arisen for an IT manager to join our enthusiastic and dedicated IT team focused on providing excellent IT services to Children First. The role involves the management of IT infrastructure, systems and hardware, overseeing the work of the IT technical team.

Based in Edinburgh, with some home working and visits to sites across Scotland, the successful candidate will bring significant experience of managing cloud hosted IT services. Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune, the post holder will be highly motivated with robust problem solving and analytical skills.

The role will involve collaborating with colleagues across the organisation, taking the time to build relationships and understand the needs of the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our new and innovative Restorative Family Group Decision Making Service in East Ayrshire. The new team and model of relational and restorative approaches, including Family Group Decision Making, will play a pivotal role in the delivery and development of the service, ensuring high quality relationships with children and families and working alongside our partners to evidence impact. We are therefore looking to recruit a dynamic, experienced team of individuals who can drive the successful development and growth of this new and innovative partnership.

You do not require previous experience in the delivery of Family Group Decision Making but you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles and values of the approach. You must also show a commitment to complete accredited training, which will be provided.

If you have experience of working within child protection processes, are committed to restorative approaches, meaningfully involving children and families, and have a professional qualification in a relevant area such as Social Work, Teaching or equivalent in Childcare/Social Care or related area, accredited counselling qualification, or other relevant qualification at SCQF level 9 or higher then we want to hear from you.

Children First along with partners share a determination to act upon the recommendations from The Independent Care Review and deliver The Promise to children and young people. We are also determined that the full incorporation of the UNCRC means that children will have their rights respected in all areas of their lives and will have a real say in the way they are supported. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Glasgow Family Wellbeing Service, to positively impact on the lives of children, young people and their families, building empowering relationships to address the various, often complex, challenges they face. This is an innovative service, working alongside children and their families within communities across Glasgow, providing whole family support which is easily accessible and non-stigmatising. We listen and learn from children and families to develop the service alongside our partners. We are therefore looking to recruit dynamic, flexible, experienced individuals who can drive the successful development and growth of this innovative service.

This post holder will specifically have a lead role, developing community engagement and delivering community events. It is essential that the availability of the service is flexible to when support is needed-including daytime, evenings, and weekends.

Further Information

This is a permanent post. We have one full time equivalent post (35 hours a week), but we would like to hear from anyone who would like to explore a reduced hours arrangement. Please identify your preferred working pattern/availability in your application.

This post requires flexibility, which means daytime, evening and weekend work , in order to offer the appropriate level of support to individual families, and deliver community events.

You should have experience of working in a leadership role; of offering reflective support and supervision to a team of staff and be able to confidently respond to and manage risk.
