About the role
ACOSVO is a small team with big aspirations and it is a very exciting time to join our team. We are seeking a Communications & Events Administrator to support the Communications & Events team to deliver our events programme as well as communicate marketing and informational materials to our Members and relevant parties.
Customer services skills are required as you will often be the first point of contact for our Members and other stakeholders. Ideally you would have some experience working in a similar role but with ACOSVO’s focus on learning and development, this is the perfect role for someone who is well organised, has an eye for detail, and has strong communication skills.
ACOSVO encourages staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance and as such we are happy to talk about flexible working such as location and when the hours are worked within our core hours of 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. Ideally we would like the post-holder to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, however we will consider other options.
The working location for this role is hybrid working from home or our workspace at Greyfriars Charteris Centre at Pleasance Edinburgh. There may be occasions when you will work at other locations within Edinburgh and across Scotland (these times will be arranged in advance).
Please note that this role is not suitable for less than 21 hours or as a job share.

About the Role of Head of Communications and Events:
The Head of Communications and Events role is a senior leadership position within ACOSVO, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is pivotal in driving the organisation’s strategic communications and events programme to achieve ACOSVO's vision and goals. It includes developing and delivering a dynamic Communications and Engagement Plan, ensuring engaging content across all channels, and promoting ACOSVO’s brand. Additionally, the role oversees the planning and execution of high-quality events, ensuring member satisfaction and stakeholder engagement. As part of the senior leadership team, the post-holder will champion ACOSVO’s values, lead on innovative initiatives, and foster collaboration across the organisation.
Additional Info:
This is a permanent position, with a 35-hour workweek.
The working location for this role is hybrid, with a requirement to go to the Edinburgh office. There will be a requirement to work at other locations in Scotland, and these times will be arranged in advance.

Additional benefits include 25 days annual leave plus 11 public holidays, pension scheme (employer contribution of up to 6%), and death in service at 1 x salary.
