Our home in Fort William is a Hybrid Model, we have a residential service for children and young people as well as a service we call Sustain Plus, which supports whole families by providing both emotional and practical support. We work with families and parents to secure a nurturing environment for children up to 18 years old. We also help parents/caregivers develop their ability to care for their children, provide practical parenting skills, and engage with their community. Our service provides flexible support of varying intensity and aims to encourage the development of family routines, resilience, and improved parental confidence.

We are looking to appoint a House Manager who will join our strong and thriving Residential/Sustain Plus community in Aberlour.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting vulnerable children and whole families to achieve the best possible outcomes in their lives. The successful candidate will have the drive, determination and cultural values to be able to lead their team to empower the children and young people to make the changes which will ultimately transform their lives.

We want someone who believes that all children and families are deserving of love and someone who will support the team to ensure that our children and families are able to live fulfilling lives.

You should have experience of working in and leading practice, preferably in a children’s house and with families. You must be visible to the team and children which will include working some evenings and weekends.

Ideally you will have knowledge about developmental trauma, how this impacts children’s early life experiences.

A comprehensive support package focussed on achieving excellence in practice is provided to all of our teams and the successful candidate will also receive clinical supervision, provided externally to support their professional practice development and well-being.

You will be required to have or be willing to work towards the qualifications for being a manager in a residential childcare facility: a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 9 or above plus a management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above.

Aberlour Family Outreach Dundee provides support to families who are struggling to cope as a result of drug and alcohol use within the family. We give children a trusted person they can talk to, while supporting parents to create a safe environment for their children through addressing their dependency and improving parenting confidence.

What we are looking for....

Our Child and Family Workers to work predominantly during Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with the occasional need to work out with these times depending on the needs of the families.

This role is funded for 12 months with the possibility of continued funding beyond this.

We are looking for an energetic, creative and compassionate individual to join our friendly, supportive team. We value skills such as providing children and young people with a wide range of fun activities and experiences to enrich their lives as well as supporting families to actively participate in shaping and defining the support we offer.

You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 6 or above, or have relevant experience of working with children or young people and families. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by substance use as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.

Travel throughout the Dundee area will be a requirement in this role.

Aberlour Options Fife - Lochwood Park service, based in Kingseat, is a forever home for one young man who has complex needs. Our service is a safe space for not only our young man but for his family to spend meaningful time. Although there can be challenging behaviour, it is the small steps of progress that this young person makes daily that makes our work meaningful. We are looking for someone to join our small team, who is a patient and understanding person. These are key skills for this role.

What we are looking for....

We are looking for two Young People’s Worker. You will work these hours as part of a residential rota, this will include days, nights, evenings, weekends and public holidays. There is also the requirement to undertake occasional sleep overs. More info on hours can be found in the Terms and Conditions for each role.

As a Young People’s Worker you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young person will have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting them to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on our young person's progress.

Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care for our young person.

We are looking for candidates who have a passion with working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. Due to SSSC requirements you will be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.

About Options Fife

At Options Fife we have been providing person centred services to children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism for over 25 years. Our Family Workers enhance the existing provision offered, enabling whole family support for children and families with complex learning needs.

What we are looking for....

As a Family Worker, you will offer emotional and direct practical help to families experiencing short- or long-term challenges. You will work with families; identifying areas where support is required, working with them to co-produce a family support plan which will be individually tailored to their child’s and family’s needs. You will agree outcomes and personal goals within the child’s plan.

The role of the Family Worker will be diverse and wide ranging and will include the following:

  • Promote and develop healthy routines, including sleep.
  • Provide practical support with personal care.
  • Support the development of play routines.
  • Support parents to address difficulties and reduce risks.
  • Build upon parents existing knowledge and equip them with enabling strategies and tools.
  • Support families to have positive and rewarding relationships.
  • Support families to implement structure, identify triggers and understand the function and purpose of their child’s behaviour and reduce challenges from escalating.
  • Along with families, liaise and work with partners and colleagues from Social Work, Health and Education to assess, review and evaluate progress.
  • You will have experience of supporting children and families with a learning disability and Autism. You will have up-to-date knowledge of best practice and supporting tools and interventions.

You will manage your own diary, and your hours will be 20 per week, worked flexibly between 7am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday. The days and hours worked will be agreed with families within the family support plan. There may also occasionally be a need to provide additional support out with these times and to be able to respond to crises and family stress.

We are looking to recruit a Residential Worker to join our team in Inverness. You will work 37.5 hours per week working in a residential house which is home for up to five young people.

As a Residential Worker, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young people are working towards their goals through supporting them with different daily activities. These activities can include educational ones such as school and college as well hobbies and interests which include a wide range of outdoor sporting activities and attending fun groups. Not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role.

This service operates a residential rota and, as part of this, you will be expected to work evenings, weekends, nights and public holidays. Shifts are set on a monthly basis, however may on occasion be altered to suit the needs of the service.

About Intensive Family Support Service

Our service supports families in the Dumfries and Galloway area who are struggling to cope. The families we work with may have a wide range of issues, which include drug and alcohol use within the family. As a Child and Family worker you would work directly with the whole family in various settings, such as their own homes, our dedicated base and other community locations.

You will be the trusted person they could talk about what they are going through at home. You whilst undertaking assessments to identify what support we can provide. You will work with the children and the family offering practical help, in the community, family home, liaising with partner agencies, schools and nurseries. Participate and lead group work sessions. Attending meetings, children’s hearings, school meetings & health appointments as required necessary. You will help establish routines and build life skills with families. Help families build parenting skills and confidence.

What we are looking for....

You should have a sound knowledge of child development and be able to work with parents either individually or in groups to develop their parenting skills & confidence.

We are looking to recruit a child and family worker to work 16 hours per week. An unsocial hours allowance is incorporated into the salary to support the requirement to be flexible with your approach and available to work weekends, evenings and public holiday to meet the needs of the families you will support. This post is offered on a temporary basis until 31st March 2027 however we are actively seeking funding to extend this further.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people, families and communities, who are flexible and share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the best option for young people and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
