Shore Psychology CIC
Shore Psychology CIC
Shore Psychology Community Interest Company is a new and innovative social enterprise set up to address the inequalities surrounding trauma and mental health services. Dr Amy Homes and an expert team of psychologists and professionals specialising in charity management have launched Shore Psychology to improve access to mental health services and better support practitioners working with clients. We will deliver one-to-one and group support to clients, educate professionals and organisations on trauma informed practices and provide a welcoming space for community groups. On the surface, the initiative will operate in a similar way to private practices where self-employed qualified associates will deliver services to improve mental health and wellbeing. However, all profit obtained from the initiative (after necessary expenditure) will be used to enable free access to therapy for those most at risk of trauma reactions. This will be managed by working with identified charity partners who understand their clients well. Our Hub will ensure employed staff and self-employed associates are working in an environment which supports them doing their difficult emotionally challenging work. This will include opportunities for further clinical supervision and Reflective Practice. The percentage of associates’ earnings taken by Shore Psychology will also be lower than that currently taken in the private clinics. The CIC will run tests of change to explore feasibility of new initiatives to improve treatment options for trauma and those with challenges from undiagnosed neurodiversity.
