The Astley Ainslie Community Trust is a charity working to achieve community ownership of the Astley Ainslie hospital in Edinburgh when the NHS vacate the site. We have 750 local members, and a wider community of people interested in the future of the site.

We are looking for someone to help with the Trust’s day-to-day administrative functions including managing our communication channels (email, Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram), updating our website, handling membership queries and the day-to-day accounts of the organization.

Key service requirements:

  • Secretary to the Trustees - organizing agendas, scheduling meetings, taking and distributing minutes
  • Communications - email, Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Website
  • Membership administration
  • Accounts administration.

We are looking for a person who will be:

  • Well organized and familiar with modern communication platforms (Squarespace, MailChimp, Facebook, X, Instagram).
  • Familiar with the requirements of working on a self-employed basis (eg covering own tax and insurance etc) and perhaps with a portfolio of similar contracts.
  • Comfortable engaging with volunteers and members of the public.

We would expect provision of these services to occupy approximately 15 hours per month for which we are offering £400 per month on a rolling basis.
