We are recruiting three new trustees.

We support young people in reaching their full potential by building their confidence and self-belief through participation in outdoor adventure activities. We deliver residential courses, primarily in the West of Scotland, for groups of young people from across the UK. We also deliver day and multiday adventures for groups of young people primarily from our community. See Hebrideanpursuits.org for more.

Our Trustees

The board of trustees needs to be able to shape strategy and effect organisational change alongside a very heavy delivery workload. Holding the charity to account, they ensure value for donors’ money. They are responsible for ensuring that risks to the charity and young people are managed and mitigated.

In this small organisation, the Trustees are involved in the management of the charity and the challenges that brings. Trustees meet at least four times a year, either in Argyll or Edinburgh, face to face or with video conferencing.

Experience of charity governance, fundraising and outdoor pursuits would be useful. Sharing our determination to support disadvantaged young people using outdoor learning is essential. We also would welcome applicants with strong skills and experience in any one of finance, GDPR, child protection and safeguarding, youth work (inequalities and inclusion) and health and safety regulation.
