We provide expert, personalised support and information via our Support Line and through our range of publications We fund innovative research to find the breakthroughs that will change how we understand, diagnose and treat pancreatic cancer We campaign for change; for better care, treatment and research, and for pancreatic cancer to have the recognition it needs. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.

Engagement Officer - Scotland and Northern Ireland

We’re seeking an Engagement Officer in Scotland & Northern Ireland to join our small but mighty Devolved Nations team!

Supporting the Head of Devolved Nations, the Engagement Officer will raise the profile of both pancreatic cancer and Pancreatic Cancer UK in Scotland & Northern Ireland, acting as the local point of contact for the charity.

You will advocate for, support and work with pancreatic cancer communities in Scotland & Northern Ireland to ensure that supporters, volunteers and partners of Pancreatic Cancer UK feel valued, supported and inspired.

You will be responsible for supporting the development of, maintaining and expanding our networks by engaging stakeholders such as health professionals, policy makers, parliamentarians, researchers and other charities across Scotland & Northern Ireland.

You will monitor the parliamentary environment to help us anticipate and respond to opportunities to influence policy and practice, producing briefings and delivering parliamentary activity and events.

Please note that this role is a home-based role in central Scotland. There is also some travel which will be required across Scotland & Northern Ireland and to our Head Office meetings in London.

About You

  • You will have experience of representing an organisation externally at meetings.
  • You will have a love of relationship management to pro-actively develop and manage effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will understand the parliamentary landscape and how it pertains to health.
  • You will be able to understand complex information and communicate it in a way that is straightforward, both in writing or verbally, and tailored to different audiences.
