About our service
Aberlour Futures is an SVQ Training and Assessment Centre with an excellent reputation, earned over 20 years, for delivering high quality vocational education and training for the Early Learning and Child Care workforce in Aberdeen City and Shire. The service also delivers Foundation Apprenticeship programmes, delivered in partnership with secondary schools in Aberdeen. The Foundation Apprenticeship qualifications are aimed at young people in S5/S6 who are considering a career working with children.
What we are looking for
Ideally you will be a qualified SVQ assessor who is interested in developing a career as a Foundation Apprenticeship Tutor. You should have a background in Early Learning and Childcare and/or Playwork and hold qualifications ideally at SCQF Level 9. If you do not possess SVQ Assessor qualifications, you should be an experienced and suitably qualified Childhood Practice Professional who is willing to undertake on the job SVQ Assessor and Foundation Apprenticeship tutor training to join the Aberlour Futures Team.
We also welcome applications from individuals with a teaching qualification who are interested in applying their skills in a vocational learning environment. Your experience in education and learner engagement will be highly valued as part of our team.
You will deliver, assess and moderate a programme of vocational learning in a number of Secondary Schools, supporting students with the Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services (Children and Young People), SCQF Level 6 and Skills for Work Early Education and Childcare National 4/5.
You should be able to provide robust assessment and good quality support to learners. You should have the ability to inspire confidence and motivate learners working in a range of early learning and childcare settings, ensuring their assessment is carried out to the required standards.
This post is advertised as 30 hours per week but consideration could also be made for term time working if this is of interest.
Please note, due to the nature of this role, annual leave is required to be taken during school holidays. A driving license and access to a car is also essential for this post.

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance Team as Finance Business Partners on a full-time, 18 months fixed term basis
This role can be based in our Glasgow, Dundee or Aberdeen office or part of our hybrid working model whereby some of your time is based at home and some in our Glasgow, Dundee or Aberdeen office, so we will need you to live within a reasonable commute of one of these offices.
The Role
Reporting to our Finance Lead, you'll be responsible for the provision of accounting and analysis to budget holders across our organisation. You'll take the lead for a defined portfolio of business areas in budget setting, forecasting, business reporting and accounting advice.
You'll provide financial support, advice and guidance to operational and/or business support budget holders, and other functional colleagues as required. part of your role will also include providing support to find solutions to funding issues, manage deficits and new work/contracts.
