Role

GLASGOW ASSOCIATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH

GAMH services support people with mental health problems to recover and lead self determined and purposeful lives. We currently have vacancies for reliable and enthusiastic people who can commit to our core values of equality, inclusion and recovery. GAMH is a Scottish Living Wage accredited organisation and is committed to Fair Work First principles for all employment terms and conditions.

Our Learning and Development Programme guarantees continuous training opportunities to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required for your role and to meet SSSC registration requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an organised, confident individual with strong communication skills and a talent for building relationships to join GAMH North East Carers Service. You will raise awareness of adult and young carers across the North East of Glasgow, working with partners in a range of sectors to identify carers early in their caring journey. Through presentations, pop-up information stalls, events and networking, you will engage with diverse audiences and proactively seek new opportunities to raise the service’s profile

Experience of working in mental health, social care, community development, group facilitation, or a related field is desirable. Knowledge of recovery approaches, strengths-based practice and social inclusion would be advantageous. All applicants must be able to work flexibly, as on occasion there may be a requirement for evening and weekend working.

GAMH aims to promote equality of opportunity in service delivery as well as in employment practice. To achieve this, we positively welcome applications from all sections of the community. Accordingly, if you have any particular requirements regarding your application, please contact Laura Middell, Central Resources Director, on 0141 552 5592.

These posts are regulated roles with children and protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, as amended by the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Successful candidates will be required to hold PVG Scheme membership for both the children’s and protected adults’ workforces and complete the appropriate PVG disclosure process through Disclosure Scotland. Any offer of employment with Glasgow Association for Mental Health (GAMH) will be conditional upon confirmation of the required PVG Scheme membership and receipt of a satisfactory PVG disclosure.
