Role

Would you like to help people build confidence, develop skills, and have greater choice and control over their lives? Join LCiL and be part of a team making a real difference every day.

We are currently recruiting a full-time Peer Support and Learning Facilitator to join our dedicated and supportive team. If you are passionate about empowering disabled people and carers and believe in the value of peer support, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

At LCiL, we are a user-led organisation committed to supporting disabled people to live independently in the community of their choice. Everything we do is rooted in inclusion, equality, respect, and collaboration, with people at the centre of our services.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support disabled people, individuals with long-term conditions, and carers to increase confidence, develop skills, strengthen social connections, and gain greater independence through peer support and learning activities.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience of organising and facilitating groups, workshops, learning activities, or community events

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with a diverse range of people

• Experience of working in a person-centred, outcome-focused role supporting individuals or communities

• The ability to build effective relationships with service users, volunteers, partner organisations, and stakeholders

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload

• A commitment to equality, inclusion, independent living, and the Social Model of Disability

You will help design and deliver peer support groups, workshops, training sessions, and one-to-one support opportunities. You will also work alongside volunteers, peer facilitators, and community ambassadors, supporting people to use their lived experience to help others and contribute to programme development.

Following induction and initial training in our Edinburgh office, you will work flexibly across office, online, and community settings, helping deliver a blended programme of support and learning opportunities throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Why Join LCIL?

We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, including:

• Flexible and hybrid working patterns

• 25 days annual leave + 10 public holidays

• Opportunities for personal and professional development

We want you to feel confident and prepared. That is why all shortlisted candidates will receive interview questions in advance.

We value thoughtful, considered responses and are keen to hear about the full range of skills and experience you can bring. This is your opportunity to demonstrate how you can contribute to a service that empowers people and strengthens communities.
