Scottish Disability Sport is recruiting a Communications Manager who will be an integral part of shaping disability sport provision in Scotland.

The Communications Manager is a key role within SDS’s Staff Team and is responsible for implementing the SDS Communications Plan.
Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, the Communications Manager will lead and deliver targeted communications in a clear and engaging manner to enhance the visibility of aspects of SDS’s work. The post will influence partnerships to embed inclusive communications practice in policy and strategy at a local, regional and national level.

We run 60 sessions a week of free, inclusive and judgement-free football. These sessions provide person-centred support to players facing a number of challenges including mental health, homelessness, long term unemployment, problem substance use, criminal justice and seeking asylum. Role Purpose
The Head of Fundraising leads Street Soccer's fundraising function, with responsibility for the strategic growth and diversification of income across Grants & Trusts, Philanthropy, Individual Giving, Social Enterprise (Change Centre Dundee and Kitback), Earned Income, Events, Sponsorship & Corporate Partnerships. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and sitting within the leadership team, this role develops and delivers a multi-year income strategy that supports Street Soccer's continued growth across Scotland and London. In line with our new strategic priorities, it will build the resilience and diversity of income the organisation needs to sustain its work with isolated and excluded adults and young people. About the Role
The Finance Manager is the most senior finance professional within the Commission, responsible for delivering robust financial management, statutory compliance, payroll oversight, and strategic financial advice. You will oversee an annual budget of approximately £7m and act as the organisation’s subject matter expert for all financial matters.
Working closely with the Head of Culture & Corporate Services, you will lead on:
• Financial reporting, analysis and advice to the CEO, executive leadership team and the Board
• Annual budget setting and multi-year forecasting
• Year-end accounts and external/internal audit
• Payroll and the annual pay award process in line with Scottish Government Pay Policy
• Financial controls, policies, procedures and risk management
• Procurement compliance and value for money
• Managing the shared services arrangement with Scottish Government (Oracle)
This role offers significant autonomy, influence and the opportunity to shape financial stewardship across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
• A professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent)
• Significant experience in public sector financial management
• Strong knowledge of the Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM) and Scottish Government Pay Policy
• Experience managing payroll and related processes
• Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
• The ability to work independently across a wide remit
• A commitment to public sector values, integrity and continuous improvement
• People management experience and familiarity with Scottish Government shared services (Oracle) is desirable.
