The South West partnership is between Space, SAMH and the Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership. Together we deliver a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency response so that citizens receive the right help for their mental health, at the right time. The Role

Peer work is a recognised practice in mental health recovery across the world.

The main role of a Thrive Peer Worker is to use their own lived experience of mental health recovery journey to promote good mental health practices with citizens within our communities.

This is achieved by providing short term, one-to-one, emotional and practical mental health support. Through confidential conversations a safe space is provided for people to discuss issues at their own pace, using person-centred tools to help others identify their strengths, and work towards achievable and meaningful recovery goals. These meetings can take place in a variety of locations including NHS venues and community based settings.

Peer Work supports people to establish meaningful and fulfilling links in the community so that people can more easily access the right help when needed including social, therapeutic and medical interventions.

Key tasks in the job:

· Hold initial conversations to assess needs and risk, ensuring people access the services that will best support them.

· Guide people to create individual support plans that draw on their own strengths

· Provide short term support through 1:1 meetings, typically between 2-6 sessions, drawing on your own mental health journey

· Be well connected in the community to understand the different services on offer and the criteria for referring.

· Accompany individuals to appointments to connect them into services.

· Attend cross team meetings to discuss cases and share learning.

· Attend open access ‘drop-in’ sessions that are held within community venues, providing people with instant access to advice and sign posting.

What you’ll bring:

· An understanding of Peer Work and how it can be utilised in therapeutic settings.

· Experience of managing your own mental health challenges, with a positive outcome, and able to share your recovery story to support others in their journey to recovery.

· Knowledge of a variety of key issues relating to mental health concerns.

· Have excellent interpersonal skills to naturally form and manage appropriate relationships with a range of people of all ages and walks of life.

· Be able to set appropriate boundaries with people you are supporting whist maintaining an open and trusting environment.

· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic administrator to join our team at our community hub.

The Reception Administrator is a key member of the Facilities Team and the face of the

organisation, ensuring that Space provides a welcoming and safe environment for staff and

visitors.

The role is a central point of contact across all Space projects, providing administration and

technical support to staff and volunteers, and ensuring the efficient operation of reception,

office and meeting rooms.

This is a very varied role, with no two days the same, typically you’ll be:

• Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all hub visitors.
• Handling incoming calls, emails and mail ensuring all enquiries are managed efficiently and directed to the right person
• Manage room bookings from enquiry to completion liaising with clients to ensure their specific needs are met and sales opportunities are maximised.
• Supporting staff and volunteers with administration and IT tasks, continually monitoring systems to ensure efficiency and cost control.
• Rota planning for the Facilities Team to ensure appropriate levels of staffing to keep the building safe and operating efficiently.
• Providing on the job supervision and training to reception staff and volunteers.
• Maintain office equipment and supplies, managing contracts with the suppliers.
• Coordinate site visits by contractors to carry out repairs and maintenance ensuring that all relevant policies and insurance requirements are adhered to.
• Engage with and build relationships with the local community, individuals and organisations, to promote our services.

What you’ll bring:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a busy administration role.
• Excellent digital skills, being confident in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams.
• Good grasp of basic digital equipment functionality and problem solving, including mobile phones, laptops, printers.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills, being able to naturally connect with people on all levels across the organisation and with stakeholders, and easily build a reputation for being approachable and trustworthy
• A positive can-do attitude, ready to roll your sleeves up, take on challenges and manage your own workload with minimal supervision
• A calm and patient manner, able to keep a cool head when managing competing priorities and showing respect to all people whatever their background.

The hours for this role will predominantly be Monday – Friday between 9-5pm, however there may be a requirement for occasional evening and weekend working to facilitate events. The role is 4 days per week; there is some flexibility over which days are worked however it must include a Monday and Friday.

Tiree Community Development Trust (known as “Urras Thiriodh”) are seeking a suitably experienced and skilled candidate to play a key role in development of commercial trading activity and income generation, in the beautiful and vibrant Inner Hebridean island of Tiree.

The newly created role is based within our Projects and Services Team, and will take on a lead oversight of existing commercial trading activity within our company group, as well as playing a key role in delivery of work to develop new income streams via trading activity, to support the future funding of the Trust, it’s development work and community services. The role has a dual focus around operational delivery and improvement, and project development and delivery to fund and deliver new assets and activities. Existing trading activities include a community filling station, leased premises for local businesses and delivery of useful assessment services and certifications such as EPCs. There is also an expectation that this role will support the current development of community housing, and the eventual administration of that housing for affordable let to local residents.
