This is a unique part-time opportunity to join a high impact and ambitious organisation in a really valuable role to support VHS to address health inequalities in Scotland.

The role of Business Support Officer will be pivotal to our success, impact and ability to deliver our new Strategic Plan. You will provide crucial support to our Board, Chief Executive and members, working as part of a highly effective team. You will strive to continuously improve the experience of key stakeholders and utilise your skills to provide efficient and effective systems.

Please note, this role is office-based in Edinburgh with opportunity for hybrid working.

Purpose of role

As the Business Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth and effective running of Capella’s central operations. Your work will ensure strong governance, robust data protection practices, and high-quality organisational coordination, helping us deliver meaningful impact for the people we support.

You will be a trusted source of support to the Senior Management Team and Board, enabling strategic decision-making that advances our mission. Through strong administration, excellent organisation, and attention to detail, you will help safeguard our organisational integrity while contributing to a positive, collaborative charity environment.

Purpose of role

We help young adults with additional support needs to realise their potential by providing person-centred education, life and social skills.

Under the guidance of the Deputy Head of Service, the Centre Manager will be responsible for the co-ordination, management and supervision of a staff team in the delivery of the TEENS+ Programme at the Ravenscroft Centre. The post holder will work closely with other members of the MDT team to ensure successful delivery of education programmes to our students in line with the organisational values.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to join for membership of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.

Teens+ is a charitable service provided by the non-profit, Capella. Teens+ provides post-school education and lifelong learning services for young people with complex communication needs, including autism and learning disabilities. It is based in four centres (Gilmerton, Liberton, Leith and Musselburgh).

The service is person-centred and individualised to ensure each student, regardless of their needs, can reach their fullest potential.

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated since 1982, providing emotional support and practical help to those affected by cancer; this role will play a valuable part in supporting the services we offer.

As we continue to grow our services to meet increasing demand, we are seeking a caring and compassionate professional with excellent communication skills, who will support those affected by cancer who access our services. With your clinical experience, you will support the wider team with complex situations to achieve the very best person-centred support. You will be methodical, empathetic, resilient, and be able to manage the demands of ongoing emotionally intense work.

You will be a qualified and registered nurse or allied health professional with at least three years post qualification experience in an oncology setting. You will be passionate about delivering face to face, accessible cancer support in a local community setting, while remaining abreast of the national cancer landscape.

Reporting to our Director of Care Services, you will be joining an established and experienced team and will be responsible for providing expert patient information and support to help meet the emotional, practical and social needs of people affected by cancer. This varied role will also support a small team of volunteers that provide level one support to people affected by cancer.

This is a part time role based over 28 hours (4 days) per week, worked between Monday to Friday within our Support Centres in Kilmarnock and Ayr, and so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

This role offers a 3-year fixed term contract, funded by the National Lottery.
