The Church and Community Engagement Worker will support and develop engagement initiatives in the parishes, assessing the needs of the community, and building meaningful relationships between the Church, its activities, and the local community.

The successful candidate will be a committed Christian with an active Church connection (Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010).

For the past nine years, Bethany Christian Trust have been delivering a community-based addiction recovery program in Scotland. As the demand for this service grows, we are looking for a candidate who will lead, develop and deliver Bethany’s Bridge to Freedom program within a group setting. A significant part of the role will also be to facilitate and develop recovery and resettlement work in partnership with churches and other organisations around Inverness.

It is essential that you have experience in facilitating, planning and working with vulnerable people in a community setting. A qualification in Social Work, Social Care, Community Education or related discipline is essential, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Applicants should have and be able to evidence an active Christian faith and commitment.

As a Specialist Project Worker with Community Contacts, you’ll play a key role in helping people live well in their own homes and communities through Self-Directed Support (SDS).

This is a home-based role supporting people across Inverness, Nairn & Ardersier, Badenoch & Strathspey, and Caithness & Sutherland. While much of the support is delivered remotely, you’ll build strong local connections and understanding within your community.

You’ll work independently while building positive partnerships with local authority teams, health and social care services, and third-sector organisations across Highland communities.

You have strong administrative and organisational skills, are confident using digital systems, and can balance competing priorities while maintaining accurate records and reporting.

In this role, you will:

• Support people to understand and navigate Self-Directed Support (SDS), helping them identify goals, choices, and support options
• Build local partnerships and promote Community Contacts across Highland communities
• Deliver flexible remote support by phone, email, post, and video call
• Use creativity and problem-solving to help people overcome barriers

At Turning Point Scotland, we have opportunities for Lead Practitioners to support individuals experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness and or need support to protect their home.

Standard working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, and 9am - 4.30pm Friday.

About the role

Our Lead Practitioner role will include:

Working with individuals who have a range of complex needs which often sit with homelessness, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives.

Supporting to liaise with local authority/ housing associations staff to help them to secure their own permanent tenancy.

Supporting with life skills to enable them to maintain their tenancy, celebrating achievements and milestones, both big and small.

Supporting them within the community and engaging with external professionals & empowering them to develop skills and independence, promoting their overall growth.

About You

You will have a genuine commitment to use your skills to support people to live their best lives.

You will be supported by a friendly, approachable management team, allowing you to expand on your existing knowledge whilst developing new skills. A level of previous working experience in social care is an advantage, but not necessary as full training will be provided to you.
