A long-established Scottish charity East Park provides high-quality education, residential care, and transition support for children and young people with complex additional support needs, helping them achieve their full potential in learning, wellbeing, and life beyond East Park.
With over 150 years of heritage and a strong reputation for compassionate, child- and person-centred practice, East Park is independently regulated by Education Scotland and the Care Inspectorate, consistently demonstrating high standards of care, leadership, and impact.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will provide strategic and operational leadership across all services, ensuring consistently high standards. Working in close partnership with the Board, you will drive the organisation’s strategic development and long-term sustainability.
This is a highly visible role that combines strategic clarity with strong operational oversight. Collaborating closely with trustees, staff, families, commissioners, regulators, donors, and partners, you will further strengthen East Park’s services, culture, reputation, and long-term impact.
Our new Chief Executive will be an ambitious, values-driven senior leader with a strong track record in delivering person-centred services. You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to represent East Park effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, acting as a visible and trusted ambassador.

As our Inclusion and Participation Officer, you will coordinate and deliver inclusive and accessible engagement across our local areas, with support from the Policy & Participation Lead and wider team.
This will support disabled people to share their experiences and ensuring those insights influence services, policy, and decision-making.
You will design and deliver lived experience engagement activity that enables disabled people to participate meaningfully and ensures their voices inform GCIL’s work and wider systems.
Additionally, as our Inclusion and Participation Officer you will be responsible for:
- Engaging effectively with disabled people, particularly within a monthly disability group
- Supporting the development and growth of disabled s groups, with potential expansion across all four GCIL services
- Producing and publishing a monthly e‑bulletin covering disability‑related issues, legislative changes, and relevant updates
- Researching, preparing, and presenting information for monthly group workshops
- Managing and updating social media content, including posts and project updates
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
- Lived experience of disability and/or professional experience supporting disabled people (including family / friend experience)
- Excellent communication and people‑engagement skills
- Strong social media experience, with the ability to create engaging and accessible content
- Strong research and information‑preparation skills
- Ability to work independently, plan monthly outputs, and meet deadlines

• The ability to effectively communicate with the people we support, staff teams, families and external care professionals.
• Creating and delivering robust service designs, support strategies and risk assessments whilst managing individual budgets.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload whilst working under pressure.
• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle for business use.
