As the Governance Officer, you will manage the governance function of RCGP Scotland, providing high quality support, ensuring that the relevant committees and groups operate efficiently and effectively, following all governance procedures.

To be successful in this role you will have exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and a can-do attitude. You will have previous experience of providing full administrative and governance support to committees. A confident and effective communicator, you will have demonstrable experience in drafting and presenting written material, communicating effectively to ensure committee members are kept informed.

We are looking for a Projects Officer to develop and support two externally funded programmes within the Projects and Initiatives Team. The postholder will support the development and implementation of a newly funded programme to increase awareness and knowledge around gambling harms and will support the delivery of an existing programme aimed at supporting new (First5) GPs.

We are looking for someone with proven project administration experience, with the ability to deliver multiple projects or services to set timelines and budget. The successful postholder will also have experience in planning events and organising and servicing meetings.

The Projects Officer will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that project outcomes are achieved to a high standard and milestones are met within budget by using relevant project documentation and processes.
• Using a variety of marketing methods to effectively promote the projects and responding to all enquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
• Organising and supporting a number of in-person and online events and servicing relevant project meetings.
• Designing and implementing effective evaluations for each programme and presenting the findings in a clear and professional manner.
• Manage the project budgets, including the processing and recording of invoices, tracking expenditure against budgets.
• Providing professional and timely project progress reports to the project funders, demonstrating activity and impact at each stage.

The successful candidate will have a HND or equivalent qualification/work experience.

They will have proven project administration experience and the ability to manage competing demands to ensure deliverables are achieved within set timelines and budget. The successful applicant should be able to work autonomously and have excellent planning and organisation skills to deliver events of varying sizes successfully. The post requires someone who has experience in organising and servicing meetings as well as a comprehensive understanding of marketing and communication principles. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrable experience in writing clear and professional reports. They will have a good knowledge of budget management and experience in undertaking evaluations and presenting findings in an accurate and impactful way.

The Royal College of General Practitioners (Scotland) is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to take on the role of Chair of the Scottish Patient Forum.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established online advisory group made up of patient members from across Scotland. The Forum ensures that lived experience and the patient voice continue to inform RCGP Scotland’s work, policy development and strategic direction.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and facilitate three online Patient Forum meetings per year.
• Represent the forum at:
  • RCGP Scottish Council meetings (three online meetings and one hybrid meeting per year)
  • The College’s UK-wide Patient and Carers Participation Group (PCPG) meetings each year (four online meetings per year)
• Work with the RCGP Scotland team to guide agenda setting and Forum priorities.
• Contribute to RCGP policy work, consultation responses, and communications including press and social media where appropriate.
• Represent patient perspectives at relevant internal and external groups, workshops and events when required.

The Royal College of General Practitioners Scotland (RCGP Scotland) is the professional membership organisation for general practitioners in Scotland. We represent approximately 5,000 members in Scotland and our purpose is to encourage, foster and maintain the highest possible standards in general medical practice.

The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland is looking for a new Fellowship and Administration Officer to help grow and sustain our flourishing global network and support our busy programme of events for the public and Fellows (members).

The Fellowship and Administration Officer is the main point of contact for Society Fellows, applicants and general enquiries. They administer and update records in the Society’s CRM database and undertake financial and general office administration. They also support the delivery of the Society’s annual programme of in-person, online and hybrid events.

Location: Hybrid working – all staff are expected to work from the Society’s office at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh at least two days per week (pro rata) and employees starting in a new role will be required to work from the office more regularly in the first instance. However, as there are several flights of stairs up to the Society offices, we are happy to explore different ways of working.

Probation: Nine-month probationary period during which time your skills and suitability for the post will be assessed

Main Responsibilities

• Acts as the main point of contact for Society Fellows, prospective Fellows and general enquiries by telephone, email, letters and in person
• Assists with application, Fellowship and subscription queries and Fellowship applications and sends welcome packs to new Fellows
• Administers and updates database records and provides reports from the database (for example, mailing lists for sending biannual newsletters and other printed items to Fellows)
• Assists the Finance Manager with financial administration relating to Fellowship, including standing orders, credit notes, direct debits and Gift Aid, renewals and various mailings
• Assists Fellows with website login access and event bookings
• Monitors the Society’s main email inboxes, responding to queries or forwarding to other colleagues as appropriate
• Produces the monthly Fellows e-newsletter and additional e-mailings as required
• Undertakes general office administration, including meeting room bookings, booking accommodation for Trustees, printing meeting papers and mailings
• Supports with the operational delivery of Society events, including Eventbrite and survey-related tasks for Fellows-only events, liaising with speakers, arranging travel and accommodation, uploading recordings of Fellows-only events to YouTube, and attending and helping at events as required
• Contributes to internal quarterly reports
• Processes and posts merchandise orders
