Rowan Alba is a charity based in Edinburgh dedicated to working alongside people who are marginalised, often experiencing homelessness, substance dependency, poor health and social isolation. About the CARDS Service

CARDS (Community and Residential Development Service) provides one-to-one volunteer befriending and support for individuals living with long-term effects of alcohol use, many of whom are socially isolated, at risk of poor health outcomes, or living with trauma.

The service’s main goal is to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and create meaningful community connections for people who might otherwise fall through gaps in statutory services. Through trained volunteers and specialist support workers, CARDS matches clients with befrienders who provide companionship, practical support, and a safe, non-judgemental relationship.

CARDS works closely with partners in health, community and rehabilitation services to ensure a holistic approach, recognising that clients often have complex needs that require specialist input and ongoing monitoring.

Core Purpose of Job

The Wellbeing Co-ordinator will oversee development of individual and group activities in all accommodation services to support residents to maintain a tenancy, increase community engagement, learn life skills and build confidence.

They will ensure provision of structured activities to deliver positive, practical and emotional support to residents that promotes choice and encourages personal responsibility. They will seek to increase partnership working with local community organisations and maintain effective professional relationships with a range of external services. They will be an effective team player in a challenging environment. They will oversee training and support of volunteers to assist in service delivery.

Support volunteers to help with social activities and engagement with service users across all our services. Plan and organise engagement/activities for service users both in-house and in the community to help them live full and active lives.

The Role

This role sits at the heart of how LGBT Health and Wellbeing show up for our community.

You’ll help make sure we are visible, connected, and rooted in the LGBTQ+ community. You will promote our services and events, engage actively across digital spaces, and help us be seen as an organisation that is of, for, and by the community.

Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in delivering campaigns and content that communicate our impact and support our fundraising. Working closely with your colleagues, you’ll help turn what we do into clear, compelling stories that reach the right people and make a difference.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being both creative and connected: equally comfortable creating content, building relationships online, and contributing to campaigns that grow our reach, impact and income.

You don’t need to have done this exact role before, but you should bring a mix of experience, instinct, and values that align with what we’re trying to do.

We are Euan’s Guide, the award-winning disabled access charity making it easier for disabled people to find places to go. At the heart of the charity is our disabled access review website – euansguide.com – where disabled people and their friends, families and carers can find and share disabled access information.

We also run the UK’s largest and longest-running Access Survey, and our Red Cord Card campaign has made tens of thousands of accessible toilets across the UK safer for disabled people.

We are an ambitious charity with a strong focus on technology, which means Euan’s Guide sits in a unique position – combining the pace and innovation of a tech start-up with the values and purpose of a charity. There is no ‘typical day’!

We have ambitious plans to grow and have secured funding for a Scotland-based Volunteer Lead to work with us until the end of March 2027.

The role

Volunteering is at the core of everything we do. We are now looking for a Volunteer Lead to help us take our volunteering programme to the next level.

This is a strategic, fixed-term role focused on reviewing and overhauling Euan’s Guide’s volunteering infrastructure across Scotland. Rather than just delivering activities, this role is about building the systems, pathways and frameworks that will allow our volunteer programme to grow sustainably, deepen its impact and extend its reach into rural and remote communities.

You will work closely with our two existing Volunteer Co-ordinators and across the wider Euan’s Guide team, including our Comms, Tech and Impact colleagues. You will report to our CEO.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to how disabled people across Scotland can access the information they need to live independently and participate fully in society.

This is a new role and we have funding for one full-time position, fixed term until the end of March 2027. The role is made possible by funding from The Scottish Government’s Improving Access Fund

Looking for an opportunity to work for a flexible and family friendly organisation doing amazing work to support Scotland’s voluntary sector?

We’re looking for the right person to join us to support the delivery of SCVO’s communications and marketing needs. The post is a 12-month, fixed term contract to provide cover during a period of leave for a full time member of staff.

In this role, you’ll join SCVO’s marketing and communications team and work alongside colleagues to nurture and grow SCVO’s membership community and to tell the story of SCVO and Scotland’s essential voluntary sector.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience and strong marketing skills who can support our busy marketing and comms team in delivering our goals.

You’ll use your skills and experience in content development, email marketing, social media marketing and media relations to engage our membership and sector-wide audiences with audience-focused, impactful marketing and communications content.

Part time hours and other flexible working options, including working from home for part of the week, will be fully considered.
