An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Phoenix Futures team at Harper House our Specialist Family Residential Service in Saltcoats. We are looking for a Childcare Manager for one-of-a-kind Nursery at Harper House, National Specialist Family Service in North Ayrshire.

The Role

You will be the Registered Manager for our Care Inspectorate registered on-site Nursery, as well as leading on specific interventions for primary school aged children, and have the opportunity to deliver parenting interventions of the wider programme while working in conjunction with the Therapeutic and Care Team.

Your role is full time, based on-site, working Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 (37.5 hours per week).

The nursery runs from the hours of 9:15am to 4pm, and your team of 8 Childcare staff will carry out various hours including 8:30am start to support school runs, and evening/weekend hours to offer wider support to our families.

About You

You will be an experienced childcare practitioner and leader, displaying a positive and motivational attitude to helping children and their families as a whole to develop. You will assist in promoting openness, trusting, positive relationships with all individuals accessing the service. You will require a deep understanding of regulations, educational requirements, health and safety, safeguarding, child protection and experience in helping children accessing our support to develop, learn and grow.

A formal qualification in Early Learning and Childcare (for example BA Childhood Studies, PDA, or equivalent)

An understanding of parental substance use, mental health, trauma, and whole family approaches

A background in leadership role within a childcare setting

Knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards

Knowledge of early years curriculum and willingness to keep up to date with current practice

Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support

The Service

Harper House, National Specialist Family Service is based in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, and offers safe, structured support for the whole family to address their problematic drug and/or alcohol use, improve their mental health and quality of life.

Harper House offers 12-24 weeks programs during which parents will be engaging with a recovery program based on the Therapeutic Community model. During this time, nursery aged children will be supported in our one-of-a-kind on-site Nursery, and school-aged children will be accessing our local school. Outside of nursery and school times, parents are the sole carers of their children, and will be supported by the wider team to develop parenting skills and strengthen their relationships.

The Role

This is a Monday to Friday role and is not on a Rota. As a Sustainable Recovery Worker, you will support people prior to leaving and after their programme to reach their goals and change their lives for the better. You will be part of a passionate and skilled team, contributing to the provision of tailored interventions and recovery approaches.

To ensure residents are supported after completion of the residential and housing services; ensuring a continuum of care approach in order to assist in individuals sustaining recovery.

To lead on the delivery of systematic reviews and support sessions as well as drop-in sessions (virtual and in-person); delivering responsive support on a 1-to-1 and group basis.

Support National development of residential rehabilitation aftercare support packages to promote a continuum of care.

About You

• Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of substance use, mental health or another comparable field
• Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service
• Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills
• To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn
• Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support

You'll be supported by a charitable organisation with extensive experience in launching and managing top-tier registered care services.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that every individual we support receives the highest quality of care and guidance.

The Role

Your role in our therapeutic community will be key. You will organise and facilitate the evening running of the Therapeutic Community programme at Rae House Residential Service. You will co-ordinate the service users’ tasks and activities. You will provide waking night cover, ensuring that risk is monitored and minimised. You will organise and facilitate the residents in preparing for the daily programme and activities. You will monitor and administer medication to service users.

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Night Care Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.

This is a part-time role of 26 hours per week on average. You will be expected to work a rolling rota which includes 10hrs shifts including weekends.

About You

• An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within drug and alcohol recovery.
• An understanding of working with families, and individuals in the substance use sector or related field.
• The ability to be innovative and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service.

• Knowledge of adult protection is essential as you will be working with vulnerable adults in a residential setting.

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to support individuals from across Scotland to access Rae House Residential Rehabilitation service. The role is Monday to Friday.

You will have experience of working with people with multiple needs including addiction and have a working knowledge of residential rehabilitation and strengthening recovery capital. Having experience in working with multiple stakeholders and nurturing relationships you will be able to confidently provide guidance to individuals, families and stakeholders in relation to accessing and developing residential rehabilitation pathways into the service.

You will ensure clients feel supported from the point of referral through to their admission to the residential service; offering responsive support to both the individual and their family members. Completing robust assessments and delivering one-to-one and /or group interventions designed to prepare individuals for a rehab stay. You will also meet individuals on their day of admission and offer support post-admission, ensuring they are welcomed in to the therapeutic community welcome house programme according to their individualised needs. You will be positive, innovative and motivational with the ability to work to your own initiative, as well as part of a large multi-disciplinary team.
