Due to growth within the programme, we are recruiting for a Senior Family Support Worker to join our Young People and Family Support Service.

Our team provides flexible intensive family support across Glasgow that enables children and young people on the edges of care, and their families, to receive the right support at the right time, building on their strengths.

We are Right There, a charity that recently celebrated our 200th anniversary. We provide tailored support for people, at home, and in the community. We are here for people who are living with the effects of homelessness, poverty, substance use, or family breakdowns.

Last year we supported almost 4,000 individuals, helping to prevent them from becoming homeless or separated from the people they love. Every person’s story is unique, and everyone’s route home is different - it doesn’t matter what the situation is – we’re not here to judge, only to help.

The senior Family Support Worker will lead and coach a team of Family Support Workers, whilst also working in partnership with the Health & Social Care Partnership and other family support providers to share resources, learn and create solutions that will help children, young people and families to thrive.

Main duties will include:

Team Management

• Provide line management and supervision to a team of Family Support Workers, ensuring clarity of role expectations and performance standards
• Offer guidance, support, and regular feedback to staff, promoting professional development through coaching and reflective practice
• Lead regular team meetings, fostering a positive team culture and ensuring open communication and collaborative working
• Manage and support staff wellbeing, ensuring a healthy work environment and promoting a good work-life balance
• Conduct yearly performance appraisals and assist in identifying training needs and development opportunities for team members
• Lead by example, delivering direct family support where necessary and ensuring best practices are maintained across all aspects of service delivery
• Ensure a robust, evidence-based approach to supporting families, regularly evaluating and improving the quality of services offered
• Manage the case load of the team, ensuring that families receive timely and appropriate interventions that meet their needs

Programme Operations

• Provide appropriate levels of high-quality support to families in their homes and in the community
• Adopt a flexible approach allowing families to receive support whenever is best for them including evenings and weekends
• Deliver evidenced based family support that helps families overcome current challenges and build resilience for the future
• Maintain accurate case files for all family members and consistently assess progress across all outcomes for all family members
• Plan, implement and continuously develop packages of tailored interventions for families to meet the needs of the individual child, their parent(s)/carer(s), siblings and wider family network. Including: practical support; parenting education and support; and emotional health and wellbeing as well as other factors that are unique to that family.
• Assist individuals accessing the service to engage and integrate into their local community and become active citizens.
• Undertake whole family assessments that focus on strengths and continuous assessment of progress towards outcomes for all family members

You have the autonomy to manage your own diary to reflect the needs of the families you are supporting, with 6 on-call shifts per month.

We’re looking for you to be able to evidence experience of supervising and leading a staff team as well as as having experience of working with children, young people and families facing challenges and on the edges of care. You will have an understanding of the key issues facing children, young people and families such as the effects of trauma and poverty. We also need you to have an understanding of current relevant legislation and policies relating to children, young people and families including GIRFEC, UNCRC, The Promise.

• Your normal working hours are 35 per week, worked between the hours of 8am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday, in shifts defined by your line manager on a rolling rota over a 52-week period.

You are also required to work in the local community and you will be paid travel expenses from your usual place of work and appointments undertaken in the course of your duties. Due to growth we are recruiting for Tenant Liaison Workers to join our Short Term Housing Glasgow programme. Our Short Term Housing programme provides a link between private property owners and tenants. Our goal is to end homelessness by providing access to privately rented properties, as we believe that this is an effective and long-term solution.

The Tenant Liaison Worker will ensure a high-quality, customer focused housing management service within their individual property portfolio, ensuring effective customer liaison and promotion of tenant participation.

Part time hours will be considered, minimum 21 hours per week.

• Develop positive, respectful and compassionate relationships with the people we support, focusing on their strengths and aspirations as individuals.
• Have a high standard of professional integrity with colleagues and other professionals.
• Establish clear professional boundaries with the people we support. Assessing, and progressing all referrals made to the service in line with service specification.
• Effective engagement with landlords and letting agents in the management of properties, ensuring they are fit for purpose and comply with legal, health and safety and corporate standards.
• Maintaining occupancy levels through efficient allocation and void management of properties.
• Liaison with external agencies such as Community Homeless Teams, Housing Benefit and Council Tax teams, landlords, support providers, health programmes, local authority and other agencies as required.
• Arranging and facilitating tenancy support with those we support to meet contractual requirements and individual need.

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual who will play a key role in developing and delivering a program of support services and activities for Care Experienced children and young people across West Dunbartonshire. This exciting post offers a unique opportunity to develop, deliver and evaluate services, learning opportunities and mentoring activities, which supports care experienced children & young people to reach their full potential.

The main aim of the role is to ensure Y sort it plays an integral role in supporting Care Experienced children & young people with their school, family and community life. We aim to build on the aspirations care experienced young people via The Promise, along with our local partners within West Dunbartonshire Promise Keepers, an established group of stakeholders. You will be directly managed by Y sort it Head of Services & Development. The postholder will be responsible for the management of the Y sort it Care Experienced Staff & Volunteer Team. Purpose and Objectives The postholder will provide critical support to Y sort it, schools, and communities to drive West Dunbartonshire’s Integrated Children’s Services Plan for care experience children and young people. You will lead and co-ordinate the team and activities required to do so. With support from West Dunbartonshire Education, Promise Scotland / Corra Foundation and Inspiring Scotland / Intandem - West Dunbartonshire is one of eleven local authorities in Scotland to adopt the approach of Intandem Mentoring model About intandem - intandem and a carryout a Test of Change initiative with the aim to develop a Supportive School Structure (Right to Education) for Care Experienced children and young people across West Dunbartonshire. The post holder will have a primary focus on developing & evaluating the impact of learning opportunities, to raise the attainment of care experienced young people and support our established Intandem Volunteer Mentoring program, by focusing on children and young people aged 8 to 14 who are subject to a compulsory supervision order (or at-risk of becoming so), living at home or in kinship arrangements (ages 8-16 years). You will be responsible for leading, supporting and managing a team of staff and volunteers, and must demonstrable recent knowledge and experience of the Promise, GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child), UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child). Experience of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, writing funding bids, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a Leadership & Management Team. Foster Carer Overview

To foster is to provide care, support and a loving home to a child or young person who is unable to live with their birth family.

There are various reasons why a child comes into care. These are normally due to the child’s early childhood experiences. Many of the young people at Kibble have experienced trauma in their short lives. Being welcomed into a supportive family home can be life-changing for them.

If approved as a foster carer with Kibble Fostering, you then become part of a team recognised to be sector leading. This covers their approach to care, support and planning for our young people.

Full-time Foster Carer

This is when you have a young person placed on a full-time basis. For this role, we would not expect you to be in any other paid employment, committing fully to your self-employed role as a full-time foster carer.

Foster Carer Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate care and support for foster children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
• Foster a safe and nurturing environment, promoting positive behaviour, emotional growth, and a positive attitude towards education.
• Maintain accurate records of care and progress, communicating effectively with the team around the child.
• Advocate for the child and, where appropriate, support their relationship with their birth family.
• Demonstrate patience, understanding and resilience, and be keen to practice therapeutic parenting skills.

Fostering Assessment:

The fostering assessment will cover practical information about your circumstances, and detailed information about you and your family (if applicable).
