Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for an analytical and proactive individual with extensive data
experience to join us as our Impact & Learning Manager where you will work with the team to better
understand, evaluate, and amplify the impact of our work in Scotland.
Please note: This role is based in Scotland and will require a level of knowledge of this area.
About Us
Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to
give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes,
and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure
children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We deliver lasting results for millions of
children, including those hardest to reach.
About the role
As the Impact & Learning Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we understand and share the
difference we're making. You'll work at the intersection of data and people: designing meaningful ways
to collect evidence, drawing out key learning, and then collaborating with colleagues, partners, families and
young people to ensure that learning drives progress.
In this exciting new role you'll lead on the design and delivery of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL)
activities across our work in Scotland — and you'll be a vital link between what's happening on the
ground and the wider systems we want to influence.
In this role, you will:
• Design and lead inclusive data collection with families, children and partners to reflect what matters most to
them.
• Collate and analyse a range of qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups).
• Work closely with delivery teams, partners, and policymakers to ensure evidence is accessible, actionable, and
shared.
• Create engaging reports, insights, and briefings that inform strategy and influence change.
• Build the capacity of internal and external teams in evidence gathering, analysis, and impact storytelling.
• Support ethical, child-informed research and evaluation, championing lived experience throughout.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Strong understanding of evaluation design and data collection methods.
• Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Proficient in tools like Excel and familiar with working with local/national datasets (specifically Scotland).
• Skilled in presenting data in clear, creative, and accessible ways.
• Knowledge of data protection, GDPR, and ethical data use.
• Commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission and values.
What we offer you:
Working for a charity provides one of the best benefits there is – a sense of purpose and reward for helping others.
However, we understand the importance of giving back to our employees to ensure a happy and healthy working
environment and work/life balance.
• We focus on flexibility, inclusion, collaboration, health and wellbeing both in and outside of work.
• We provide a wide range of benefits which will reward your hard work, motivate you, and inspire you to work to
improve the lives of children every day. You can read more about our benefits here.
