About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Outreach and Support Worker to join our team supporting individuals in Glasgow and West Central Scotland. In this role, you will be the first person our participants meet, so knowledge of services within this area would be beneficial.

You’ll be a caring, dynamic and driven person, dedicated to levelling the playing field and equipping people with the tools they need to thrive. You’ll be comfortable and confident working autonomously, working alongside people with complex lives.

Working across your area and in the Scottish wilderness, you’ll provide bespoke and holistic 1:1 support for participants, spending time to get to know them, their strengths and where they want to go. You’ll help to shape their journeys, navigating 1:1, community and wilderness journey support, always harnessing the benefits of the outdoors and nature spaces to provide therapeutic benefit. You will prepare participants for wilderness journeys and support them to develop employability skills.

We need you to work closely with referrers and partners to provide joined up support for participants, managing the differing needs of your case load, including working with young people and adults.

As an Outreach and Support Worker, you will:

• Have knowledge of services in the area that you will deliver (i.e. Glasgow and West Central Scotland)
• Deliver group activities outdoors in community greenspaces
• Provide one-to-one support for participants, identifying and removing barriers to participation and supporting towards their individual goals
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, generating referrals for all programmes
• Promote Venture Trust within local communities
• Support the delivery of wilderness journey opportunities in Scotland’s wilder places
• Work closely with referral partners and any other stakeholders to provide joined up support for participants
• Work within a team structure with hybrid working arrangements

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team and play a key role in leading our support & outreach team in supporting survivors in Highland; providing one-to-one and group support.

You will oversee the effective delivery of RASASH’s therapeutic emotional support service, which includes one-to-one support and group-based activities. The post-holder will line manage the Support and Outreach Workers (10 staff) and coordinate the strategic planning and delivery of RASASH’s support services across Highland. The Lead will play an important role in ensuring RASASH’s emotional support services are of high quality and in line with the National Rape Crisis Service Standards.

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual who will play a key role in developing and delivering a program of support services and activities for Care Experienced children and young people across West Dunbartonshire. This exciting post offers a unique opportunity to develop, deliver and evaluate services, learning opportunities and mentoring activities, which supports care experienced children & young people to reach their full potential.

The main aim of the role is to ensure Y sort it plays an integral role in supporting Care Experienced children & young people with their school, family and community life. We aim to build on the aspirations care experienced young people via The Promise, along with our local partners within West Dunbartonshire Promise Keepers, an established group of stakeholders. You will be directly managed by Y sort it Head of Services & Development. The postholder will be responsible for the management of the Y sort it Care Experienced Staff & Volunteer Team. Purpose and Objectives The postholder will provide critical support to Y sort it, schools, and communities to drive West Dunbartonshire’s Integrated Children’s Services Plan for care experience children and young people. You will lead and co-ordinate the team and activities required to do so. With support from West Dunbartonshire Education, Promise Scotland / Corra Foundation and Inspiring Scotland / Intandem - West Dunbartonshire is one of eleven local authorities in Scotland to adopt the approach of Intandem Mentoring model About intandem - intandem and a carryout a Test of Change initiative with the aim to develop a Supportive School Structure (Right to Education) for Care Experienced children and young people across West Dunbartonshire. The post holder will have a primary focus on developing & evaluating the impact of learning opportunities, to raise the attainment of care experienced young people and support our established Intandem Volunteer Mentoring program, by focusing on children and young people aged 8 to 14 who are subject to a compulsory supervision order (or at-risk of becoming so), living at home or in kinship arrangements (ages 8-16 years). You will be responsible for leading, supporting and managing a team of staff and volunteers, and must demonstrable recent knowledge and experience of the Promise, GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child), UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child). Experience of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, writing funding bids, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a Leadership & Management Team.
