Gateway is looking to recruit two new Board Members.

Gateway is one of the leading charitable organisations in Highland, providing a diverse range of services in Inverness City, Easter Ross and Wester Ross.

We provide services for vulnerable adults including Care at Home, Community Housing Support, and supported accommodation.

We are looking to recruit an additional two Board members to join our experienced team of Directors. This is an exciting time for Gateway and members find their work rewarding in so many ways.

As a Director, you will play a crucial role in guiding our organisation through developing the strategy, ensuring we uphold our values and achieve our mission, and making a tangible and positive impact on people’s lives. Our Directors are critical friends whilst providing the senior team with constructive challenge.

We are specifically looking to appoint members based on demonstrable experience and skills in one or more of the following areas:

• Legal and Risk Management;
• Healthcare/Social Care Experience;
• Financial;
• Fundraising.

Your expertise in any of these areas will be invaluable in steering our strategic direction and maintaining robust governance.

Being a Chairty this is a voluntary position, however travel expenses to meetings would be paid.

Board meetings are held quarterly, lasting approximately two hours, and are normally held on a Monday during working hours. These meetings are held in person at our Head Office in Inverness, although we can accommodate a hybrid arrangement to meet the suitable person’s needs.

About the Community

Located in Leith, the Community provides supported accommodation and mental health support for up to four people as they make the transition from hospital care back into the community. Our community model is based on Cyrenians core values, prioritising trusted relationships and putting the person at the heart of the decisions which matter most to them.

About the role

The Keyworker post is responsible for providing person-centred support to residents and ensuring the community offers a safe and supportive environment for residents. The main responsibilities for the role include:

• Working alongside residents to develop their own support plan

• Providing advice and guidance to Assistant Keyworkers and volunteers

• Liaising with support providers to ensure that a joined-up system of care and support is realised

About You

You will be experienced in providing high quality support and able to work at the pace of the individual. You should also:

• Be excellent at building trusted relationships

• Passionate about supporting individuals to reach their potential

• Have strong communication and organisational skills.

The shifts for this role will be worked primarily during the day on weekdays. This part time role could suit someone who has other work, learning or personal commitments.

The purpose of a homeless youth accommodation service is to provide safe, stable, and supportive housing for young individuals experiencing homelessness. This type of service aims to address the unique challenges faced by homeless youth and offer a range of support to help them transition to stable and independent living.

Purpose of the Role

The Practitioner for Youth Services plays a crucial role in delivering practical and emotional support to empower young people through a strength-based trauma informed approach, enabling them to make informed choices about their lives. The service aims to evidence and monitor the progress of young individuals through regular assessments, ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, the role involves supporting young people in various aspects, such as housing benefit applications, understanding housing options, accessing education and employment opportunities, and connecting with community resources. The service is dedicated to delivering a supportive environment and seeking feedback from young people to continuously improve the quality of the service.
