Your new opportunity

Quarriers Youth Housing Support Service is recruiting a Service Coordinator on a full time permanent basis. This is an exiting and rare opportunity to join the QYASS team who provide support to young people aged 16 – 25 years who may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The service aims to support the Council’s goal of reducing levels of repeat homelessness by providing a high-quality housing support service through our supported accommodation in Ayr and our Outreach services across South and East Ayrshire. QAYSS currently supports 7 young people in their own flats within close proximity of our office, in addition there are 2 young people who share a house locally. Support and advise is available to young people 24/7 365 days a year.

As the Service Coordinator you will provide management and leadership to staff and promote the service ensuring the quality if service provision is delivered to the highest professional standards. You will champion organisational goals and align your skills to Quarriers mission in making Scotland a better place. You will be an advocate in #keepingthepromise so that Scotland's children and young people grow up loved, safe and respected. A key part of the role will be to listen and build strong trusting relationships with staff and young people to ensure they feel safe and heard.

This is a full time permanent post offering 37 hours per week.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • A recognised qualification in management, community learning and development, social work, education or equivalent.
  • Experience of staff management and supervision, along with the ability to lead, motivate and develop the staff team.
  • Significant experience working with vulnerable children / young people.
  • Experience of effective partnership working to meet children / young people’s needs
  • A working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
  • Confident and very competent with ICT including spreadsheets, PowerPoint, excel, word, databases etc.
