The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity.
Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.
By generating the income we need to realise our ambitions, you will help us to be there for even more members of the fire and rescue community.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraiser to join our team, full of ideas and a positive attitude. You’ll need excellent business and project planning skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt your communication style to your audience.
You’ll be responsible for maximising the potential fundraising income from every initiative you support, so you must be able to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and build strong networks.
You’ll also be able to support and inspire our volunteers, ensuring that these vital links between our Charity and the fire and rescue services are happy and fulfilled in their roles.
Reporting to the Regional Fundraising Manager, you’ll be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
This is a permanent, full-time role within Scran Academy with the core purpose of supporting young people to gain confidence, experience and skills using food and cooking.
The successful candidate will help change the lives of young people facing exclusion by supporting them using food and cooking as a vehicle to build skills and confidence. The post holder will support young people from 11+, with core groups aged from 14+, to gain positive experiences through a blend of group work, vocational training, accreditation, 1-2-1 delivery and outcomes-driven youth work. This means that the successful candidate will be expected to inspire and be inspired by young people. Using food, cooking and the professional rigour expected in a kitchen, the post holder will design and deliver engaging sessions that give groups and individuals a strong sense of power and purpose.
The post holder will deliver across programmes within Scran, and will report to the CEO with oversight from both the Academy Programme Lead and the Food and Learning Manager.
A typical week would support delivery in various locations: Mondays, Fridays, and occasional weekends will flexibly support our catering and outreach programmes, either at our café site in Comely Bank, or at various locations from our famous food truck, the Scran Van. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will be dedicated to co-delivering our Academy and Tutoring programmes in our site at the Gyle.
A full driving license for manual vehicles is essential for this role.

We are a youth-led organisation. Young people come to us to learn in a bespoke way. They set their own outcomes and goals, and co-design the nature of the programme accordingly. This means both relationship-building and record-keeping are absolutely central to the role. The post holder will be expected to compassionately support young people to step outside their comfort zones and encourage them to develop positive growth mindsets.
We are an independent SQA centre, allowing us to offer young people the opportunity to gain qualifications outside of the classroom. The post holder will help design and deliver exciting, experiential learning sessions that maximise positive impact for young people. They will also proactively engage in all necessary compliance and training required for the SQA, and ensure continuous capture and celebration of young people’s progress.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering training courses/sessions to enable the EASE Project end users (AFTAR/CAB tenants of five partner Housing Associations, located throughout North Lanarkshire) to empower digitally excluded clients to claim online benefits, grants, offer IT sessions and employability sessions. The post- holder will have responsibility for planning group training sessions as well as one to one coaching sessions for the end users in their own home, or at community based venues or at partners’ premises. Learning will be evaluated through client user surveys and other feedback.
Owing to the flexible delivery nature of this project, a clean current driving licence and use of a car is required for this post.

About the role
Carers Scotland is seeking a Senior Employment Manager to lead our work in supporting unpaid carers in employment and employability. The role includes managing and leading the Carer Positive scheme and Employers for Carers Scotland. You should be passionate about supporting unpaid carers to enter and remain in employment, where they want to start or continue their career. A confident, self-starter you should have considerable experience of managing programmes and projects, as well experience of income generation, including preparing bids for project funding. A strong network within the business community and an understanding of employment practice would be an advantage, as well as experience in public speaking and training. A good team player is a must.
