Upmo are an Edinburgh-based charity that provides support and opportunity for adults with learning disabilities and autism across Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian. Upmo was founded in 2006 by Josh Barton and inspired by the belief that services for adults could truly be exciting, dynamic and meaningful.
In 2006, adults with learning disabilities lacked opportunities in higher education and there was a lack of understanding around individual needs. Those who understood the needs of service users operated with limited scope to encourage, inspire and motivate. As a result, many service users were isolated and desperately in need of opportunities to become more socially engaged, active and valued.
The response from Upmo was combining progressive learning within an educational curriculum and the development of support service provision – placing the needs of students at the heart of services. Distinguishing themselves by adopting an unconventional approach, Upmo provides custom-tailored support services alongside a well-regarded curriculum featuring creative workshops, educational activities, and vocational programs. The charity has also expanded its impact through a growing number of social enterprises aimed at creating job opportunities and preparing students for employment.
Upmo is actively seeking an accomplished Senior Fundraiser equipped with a diverse skill set, who are able to craft strategic approaches for accessing new funding streams and fostering income generation. The ideal candidate should possess experience in securing support from Trusts, Foundations, and private sector sponsors that align with the organisation's strategic plans.
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and submitting funding applications, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. The position requires the successful delivery of funding campaigns, objectives, and targets within set deadlines. This entails monitoring funded projects, completing progress reports, and conducting necessary research for new opportunities.

The Senior Support Worker will assist in the supervision and direction of the staff team and in maintaining the high standards of support in line with the organisation’s quality standards and mission statement. Knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the social care sector and the requirements of the Care Inspectorate is essential for this role. The post holder will also be expected to commit to on-call duties.

The Role

Working alongside our Branch Leader, Culture Lead, PBS Lead and Depute Delivery Director, you’ll develop a high functioning, accountable and professional support team who are dedicated to making sure that the people we support live the best lives possible.
You’ll take on Registered Manager responsibilities and will drive improvements in standards and quality and help us achieve our strategic aims.

About you
This role would be ideal for someone who is looking to develop their career in our sector in a more senior role, or a Registered Mental Health/Learning Disabilities Nurse with leadership experience.
What we need you to bring:-
- Extensive experience in a leadership role in the Health or Social Care setting
- Significant experience of managing and leading teams, with evidence of improving performance
- Experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities and Autism
- Knowledge of legislation and governance within the Social Care sector, specifically SSSC codes of practice and Health & Social Care Standards
- A sound understanding of professional boundaries, accountabilities, and responsibilities, particularly in relation to working with vulnerable people
- A proven solutions focused approach to problem solving with a flexible approach to emerging or changing circumstances
- SCQF level 9/10 in Social Services and Healthcare or equivalent

Who we are looking for:
The Programme Manager is a key role in delivering on our work to transform lives, change attitudes and help to create a society that works for autistic adults and children.
The Programme Manager oversees a team of staff delivering on a diverse portfolio of projects and programmes of support which directly benefit autistic people and their families in Scotland.
In doing so the Programme Manager ensures that our support is of high quality, targets are met, budgets are scrutinised, safeguarding protocols are followed and outcomes effectively reported on.
To do this we are looking for an individual that has experience in over overseeing projects and programmes as well as experience in managing a team and reporting on progress both internally but also to funders.
The Programme Manager is also part of the senior team in Scotland and has a role in implementing our three-year strategy ‘From Vision to Reality’ as well as input into all our activity in Scotland as well as working with the wider team at a UK level.
This is a permanent role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday; with some out of hours working required.

About the role:
We seek a part-time (21 hours per week) Learning Coordinator to promote and deliver Lead’s Aberdeenshire Multiply Numeracy Skills Project. This is a learning service for disabled people and carers who experience barriers to learning, work, and further education.
The successful applicant will be committed to:
1) Engaging and supporting disabled people and carers to overcome barriers and embark on personalised learning journeys, making positive, sustained transitions into their chosen progression routes and positive destinations.
2) Being an active part of the Lead Scotland team as we develop new, exciting learning opportunities in Aberdeenshire for disabled people and carers.
This post is home-based in Aberdeenshire with frequent travel around the region and involves regulated work for which a satisfactory PVG will be required. Lead Scotland has a Recruiting People with Convictions Policy.
About you:
You will be passionate about the transformative power of adult learning, be confident in communicating one to one and with groups and have a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
You will have great organisational skills and previous experience of supporting disabled people experiencing a range of barriers, of working one-to-one with learners, and of designing and delivering learning programmes. Access to transport is essential due to the nature of the work in homes and communities across the region. You will hold an Assessors Award or be willing to work towards this.
