At Scottish Bible Society we share the Bible.
Thanks to the commitment and generosity of our supporters, the Scottish Bible Society is a charity that helps individuals and communities in over 200 countries and territories around the world receive Bibles in a language they understand and a format they can use. We are creative in supporting churches in Scotland to keep the Bible central and encourage meaningful engagement to deepen encounters with God. The range of projects we either initiate here or support around the world is extensive. Teaching people to read using the Bible, helping to heal the wounds of trauma in Bible-based support groups and ensuring Bibles are kept affordable in rapidly growing churches are just a few examples of transformative projects we support.
We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic leader who excels in a senior management position and as part of a leadership team. You will be someone with communications and development / fundraising experience who can raise the profile of the SBS brand, engage both existing and new audiences to respond by supporting the SBS mission, and motivate a staff team to deliver our organisational objectives. You will have experience of designing and managing campaigns that help meet fundraising targets for a charitable organisation, or a background in leading campaign strategies that drive sales for a commercial organisation.
The role leads the communications and donor care teams and reports to the Chief Executive. You will be articulate, have strong influencing skills and proven stakeholder management skills to work with all levels of staff in the organisation, our board of directors, and external partners. This is a senior role in an organisation with a strong Christian ethos, therefore there is an occupational requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian.
