About Citizens Advice

The Citizens Advice network in Scotland is the largest independent advice service in the country. Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) is a charity within this network – we are national organisation supporting and representing the interests of citizens. At the heart of the network there are 59 individual citizens advice bureau across Scotland, all operating as independent charities in their own right, which focus on providing support and advice directly to clients. Each of these organisations is a member of Citizens Advice Scotland. About the Job

The post will be part of a CAS department called Advice Services and will sit within the Network Services team. This is a small team at CAS that provides advice and support to Trustees and Managers across the CAB Network about strategic and operational matters. The team covers a range of subjects from board induction to safeguarding and everything in between, they attend board meetings, support with business plans and innovation and direct CABs where needed to CAS colleagues for other areas of CAB work.

The Volunteer Support team is a new exciting team at CAS to support the Network with volunteering and these roles provide a fabulous opportunity to be part of a team that makes a real difference to people’s lives every day, enabling local communities to be part of a community service. The two posts will be managed by our Volunteer Support Manager.

Responsibilities

This role will support our vision of being a volunteer led Network. Responsible for developing a range of systems and resources identified through our volunteer strategy and through collaboration with others. The overarching aims of the strategy is to support the CAB Network to recruit, retain and support diverse volunteer roles to continue our work to be an inclusive volunteer network. This is to embed a future proofed model to volunteering that increases a range of accessible volunteer opportunities across the CAB Network and to ensure volunteers have the best experience.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of supporting Scotland’s largest independent advice network and to make an invaluable contribution to citizens lives.
