Role of the Talent Acquisition Officer
Full time, 12 months fixed term
The Talent Acquisition Officer is a critical part of the People & Culture team and supports all withYOU
recruitment efforts by providing full-cycle talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding support. This person
should be highly ambitious, an exceptional relationship builder and strategic planner, and someone who employs
creative approaches to source talent.
The role has three primary areas of focus; first, work with the Head of People & Culture and key stakeholders to
anticipate and plan for upcoming people needs; second, oversee and manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding,
including contributing to the design and implementation of effective strategies; lastly, build collaborative
internal relationships and effective external networks.
The TA Officer will implement industry “best practices” to recruit for individuals who are aligned with the
organisational culture while building withYOU as an employer of choice.
Regular travel to withYOU’s service locations will be required.
Responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Officer
Strategy & Planning
- Partner with the Head of P&C and hiring managers to anticipate future talent needs and proactively take
action in advance of talent needs.
- Ensure consistent communication with hiring managers to stay mutually
informed on talent activities and needs.
- Track and identify innovative trends in talent acquisition,
particularly in the Social Care sector.
- Identify areas of opportunity to strengthen Talent and
proactively offer recommendations.
- Assist in promoting withYOU as an employer of choice by attending
events and promoting through social media and job boards.
Full Cycle Recruitment and Onboarding
- Take ownership for building and maintaining productive partnerships with Heads of Service and Service Managers
to plan for future talent needs.
- Increase internal and external talent pools within the
region.
- Provide responsive, high-quality service to candidates.
- Expand the capacity of hiring
managers to identify talent via improved interview skills & ability to specify critical
needs.
- Support the development of tools to ensure recruitment and onboarding processes are aligned with
Safer Recruitment and withYOU practices
- Revise job descriptions and advertise positions through
BreatheHR, withYOU’s website and other external portals.
- Shortlist candidates based on established
criteria and present them to hiring managers within predetermined timeframes.
- Support hiring managers in
drafting interview guides and other interview materials.
- Utilise BreatheHR to manage recruitment from
requisition to hire.
- Education and/or Professional Qualifications
Desirable
· SCQF Level 7 (or above) qualification in either Human Resource Management, Marketing, Media and/or Communications
or experience equivalent.
Experience & Skills
- Demonstrable experience working in a high-volume and complex recruitment environment, including the use of Safer
recruitment practices and working knowledge of SSSC/PVG registrations and requirements.
- Demonstrated
interest in staffing and talent planning, preferably in the social care sector.
- Be a recognised top
performer with energy, intelligence, strong analytical skills and highly evolved interpersonal
skills.
- Demonstrable history of providing excellent customer service and a high level of attention to
detail.
- Working knowledge of recruitment/HR best practices.
- A historically demonstrated ability
to maintain confidential information.
- Be able to interrogate data and use data sources to support
evidence-based people decision making.
- Proven experience and intermediate skills in Microsoft Word,
Excel, and Outlook, as well as the ability to navigate the Internet/intranet.
