Role

Opportunity to develop your professional skills in a values-led context, supporting a fundamental part of Scotland’s social and economic fabric.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who values the role of the voluntary sector to be co-opted onto our Board of Trustees and act as our Treasurer. No previous board experience is required.

SCVO is the national body for Scotland’s voluntary sector. Over 3,600 charities, community organisations, and social enterprises are members of SCVO, including grassroots groups, Scotland-wide organisations, and international bodies.

Through influencing and service provision, SCVO seeks to advance the interests of our members and the wider sector, and the people and communities they serve.

We believe that a thriving and effective voluntary sector is vital to Scotland’s economy and society. We support the sector to achieve its ambitions through delivering services, by giving the sector a voice at a national level and promoting and supporting innovation and improvement. Our strategic plan 2023-28 can be found here.

We are actively promoting better diversity of trustees across the voluntary sector, and we need our board to demonstrate diversity of thought, background and experience. We welcome applications for the role of Treasurer from people from ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.
