As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing the highest possible quality of social care support, which meets the needs of each person we support. You will identify, plan and facilitate support, enabling appropriate move-on options for the people we work with. Whether it’s developing staff, driving positive outcomes, overcoming challenges or celebrating success, you’ll play a key role in making a lasting difference every day.

We look after our team too with competitive pay, a fully funded SVQ qualification, wellbeing support and real opportunities to develop your career.

We are looking for people who are kind, passionate and creative, and who share our values.

We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated, everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and people from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

How You’ll Support People to Thrive:

  • Provide assistance to the Service Manager in the day to day delivery of the service, deputising where necessary.
  • Promote and encourage the professional development of staff, including onboarding, supervision, core competencies, in-house training and external training.
  • Ensure adequate staffing cover is provided for the service at all times by appropriate shift rotas and deployment of employees, both permanent and relief.
  • Carry out effective and regular supervision with Support Workers.

Our Shore Street and Solas services in Oban support those aged 16+ who are experiencing homelessness, with this role operating on a 4 week rolling rota. Find out more about the role in our Senior Support Worker Role Profile.
