Make a real difference to people living with dementia and their families.

STAND is a Fife charity led by people with lived experience of dementia. We believe that life doesn’t stop with a diagnosis — people can continue to grow, connect and enjoy new experiences. Nine trustees currently sit on STAND's Board of Trustees and, as a peer-led charity, three (including the Chairperson) live with dementia, three are/were carers and three have professional backgrounds.

We are currently seeking the following new Trustees to share with us their experience, talents, and passions:

• Trustee Secretary (further details attached)
• Trustee (ideally with experience in fundraising, but experience in campaigning, marketing, HR, creative pursuits or digital technology would also be beneficial).

Insight or personal experience of dementia or caring responsibilities would be an advantage. The STAND team is friendly and supportive, and you will be working with the charity's Development Lead and Administration Officer alongside trustees, volunteers, staff and members of the charity.

The Board of Trustees currently convenes every six weeks (usually from 2.00pm – 3.30pm), with the AGM in the autumn. Office Bearers and senior staff meetings usually take place quarterly. Most meetings are held in Kirkcaldy and travel expenses are reimbursed up to 30 miles from Kirkcaldy. Rarely, an additional Extraordinary General Meeting of the Board may take place.

Between meetings, it will be necessary to work remotely.

PMH Borders is a much valued perinatal mental health charity established for over 16 years with a proven track record and evidence of growing demand. We provide psychological therapies and counselling to parents and families across the Scottish Borders from our base in Galashiels.

As we develop our service, we are looking to recruit four new Trustee Board Members with experience in business management, change management, social media or HR.

This is an exciting time to join our Team. We are at the start of a new chapter, with ambitious plans to redevelop our service and drive meaningful growth to become a sustainable and socially responsible charity.

Borders Community Action is seeking to appoint an additional trustee/director who will join the Board immediately and become Chair Designate, with the intention of assuming the role of Chair of the organisation in 2027.

Role Profile

As Chair Designate, the successful candidate will first serve as a full trustee/director of the organisation. Trustees are collectively responsible for ensuring the charity is well run, financially responsible and acting in line with its purposes, while safeguarding its assets, values and reputation.

This is an opportunity for an experienced and dynamic individual to help lead a growing and ambitious organisation through its next stage of development. The successful candidate will work alongside fellow trustees/directors, the current Chair and the Chief Executive to ensure a well-supported and effective transition into the

Chair role.

In addition to the general duties of a trustee, the Chair Designate should be willing and able to:

• Provide strategic leadership at Board level and help guide the long-term direction of the organisation.
• Build effective working relationships with trustees, staff and key partners.
• Support good governance, sound decision-making and collective responsibility within the Board.
• Work closely with the current Chair and Chief Executive during the transition period ahead of 2027.
• Act as an ambassador for Borders Community Action and the wider third sector in the Scottish Borders

About the CATS Evaluation Panel

The Community Asset Transfer Scheme (CATS) supports the implementation of Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015. Through the scheme, community organisations can request rights in land and property where they believe they can deliver greater community benefit.

The CATS Evaluation Panel provides independent advice and constructive challenge on Asset Transfer Requests relating to Scotland's national forests and land. The Panel helps ensure that decisions are robust, transparent and informed by a broad range of expertise.

We are currently seeking to appoint two new Panel Members.

About You

We are looking for individuals who can bring independent judgement, strategic thinking and relevant professional expertise to support the Panel's work.

In particular, we are interested in hearing from candidates with experience of:

• Renewable energy and onshore wind development, operation, governance, regulation or community benefit models.
• Community development, community empowerment and rural development.
• Assessing complex proposals and balancing social, environmental and economic outcomes.
• Providing objective advice, constructive challenge and evidence-based recommendations.
• We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives who share our commitment to community empowerment and sustainable land management.

Terms

As detailed in the candidate information pack, panel members will be expected to participate in up to four meetings each year and commit up to ten days annually. Meetings may take place online, in person and occasionally involve site visits.

A daily fee of £285 and reasonable travel expenses will be paid. The role does not attract pension or holiday entitlement.
