About the Worker Support Centre
The Worker Support Centre (WSC) is a Scottish charity working in partnership with migrant workers at risk of exploitation across Scotland to secure their rights, challenge labour exploitation, build collective power, and drive lasting law and policy change. We are an evidence-led, worker-driven organisation with strong governance and a growing track record of policy impact. WSC operates a worker-driven structure that places migrant workers at the centre of our governance and decision-making. We deliver casework alongside worker-led organising and policy advocacy, supporting migrant workers in seasonal agriculture and social care to meet basic needs and to understand and exercise their rights, including through our Worker Power programme, which builds solidarity between workers and within communities.
About the role
This is a new role, created as part of a restructure of WSC's fundraising and communications function. The Strategic Communications Officer will work closely with, and be line managed by, the Fundraising and Communications Manager, who sets the strategic direction, editorial oversight and quality standards for WSC's communications.
The postholder will lead the day-to-day delivery of WSC's communications and movement-building activity, creating compelling content across digital, print and social channels, supporting media and press work, and playing a central role in delivering WSC's Communications Strategy. This includes helping to build and mobilise a worker-led movement, supporting coalition and ally relationships, and delivering campaign moments that build public and political support for the fair treatment of workers on tied and temporary visas.
This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong strategic communications and content skills with a genuine interest in organising, campaigning and movement-building, and who is comfortable balancing planned content and campaign delivery with reactive, fast-moving opportunities. Stramullion provides a safe and supportive home for ten women, as they rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness and the impacts of this on their health. Two residents share an apartment, with shared kitchen and lounge. The service has an outdoor space which can offer a sense of community. The name Stramullion – Scots for ‘strong woman’ – reflects our commitment to helping residents regain stability and confidence. Our team fosters this strength by creating a safe, welcoming space and offering opportunities for creative expression through cooking and activities, experiences our residents may never have had the opportunity to enjoy before.

Enquire is the Scottish advice service for additional support for learning. The service is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Children in Scotland.
Our goal is to help parents, carers, professionals and children and young people understand pupils’ rights to extra support in school and early years settings. Our vision is that all children in Scotland are supported, included, and listened to throughout their education.
We are looking for an experienced and caring adviser whose primary responsibility will be responding to helpline enquiries. The right candidate will have excellent listening skills and be able to explain complex information in a clear and concise way, both over the telephone and in writing.
An understanding of the issues affecting children and young people with additional support needs and their families and knowledge of the Scottish education system would be an advantage.

Taking on this role at this moment will see you become part of the founding story of a new major player in the Scottish music scene.
