About LGBT Health and Wellbeing

LGBT Health and Wellbeing was established in 2003 to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people across Scotland.

Today, we are Scotland’s national charity for LGBTQ+ adults, working every day to make sure people have somewhere to turn, somewhere to belong, and somewhere they can be themselves.

We create spaces where LGBTQ+ people can find connection, support and a sense of belonging. We provide services that help people through difficult moments, build confidence and feel less alone. And we use what we learn from our communities to influence the systems, services and decisions that shape our lives.

We are recognised as a trusted and credible voice on LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing, particularly in mental health, trans wellbeing and the experiences of LGBTQ+ elders.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple aim: a Scotland where LGBTQ+ people thrive, no matter who we are.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of the most ambitious pieces of work in our organisation's history.

Thanks to support from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, we're developing Scotland's first LGBTQ+ Inclusive Care Standard - a co-produced framework that will improve how inclusive care is understood, delivered, and experienced across Scotland.

Working alongside LGBTQ+ people with lived experience, care providers, and national partners, you'll lead the development, piloting and implementation of the Standard, helping to create lasting improvements in health and social care while influencing wider policy, practice and systems.

You don't need to have developed a national Standard before, but you'll bring experience of leading projects, working collaboratively and turning ambitious ideas into practical action. Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ people and creating a future where inclusive care is the norm, not the exception.

We are seeking an innovative, motivated, compassionate and resilient Citizen Advocacy Co-ordinator to join our team.

In this role, you will support a number of Volunteer Citizen Advocates who have recently completed their volunteer training, offering them ongoing support & supervision and training. Citizen Advocacy encourages ordinary citizens to become involved with the welfare of those who might need support in their communities. It is based on trust between the person being supported and the citizen advocate.

This role is a fixed-term contract made possible by pilot funding from the Scottish Government. We are hopeful that further funding will be made available moving forward.

The role ensures advocacy relationships are safe, effective, independent, and person centred, while promoting choice, rights, and social inclusion.

We’re looking to match our Volunteer Citizen Advocates with advocacy partners living in the Perth city area aged over 65.

Our Activity Centres provide innovative and person-centred services and support to veterans struggling with sight loss. This job exists in order to provide tailored support to veterans carrying out woodworking projects. You will work alongside the veterans to identify abilities, share ideas and plan projects within the activity Centre. You will ensure that the support provided is person-centred, tailored to their needs and is the right support for them. You will support the leadership team to coordinate and manage the activities provided within and from the Activity Centre which will support the overall wellbeing of the veterans and their families. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation and external stakeholders to ensure that veterans can access the relevant support.

Receptionist, Dundee

The Yard is an award-winning charity that runs adventure play services for children with disabilities and/or additional support needs and their families.

As Receptionist, you will ensure the smooth running of the front of house function, as well as providing general support and administrative duties to other teams.

About the role:

You will be a key part of the team, leading our Front of House; welcoming families, groups and visitors to The Yard Dundee, and putting them at ease. Being able to explain The Yard to new and prospective members and advocate for our whole organisation.
