Town Break Dementia Support is seeking an inspiring and committed individual to become the next Chair of our Board of Trustees.

For almost three and a half decades, Town Break has supported people living with dementia and their unpaid carers to remain connected, active and engaged in their communities. As we approach our 34th year, we continue to build on that legacy through relationship-based support, community activities, carer support and meaningful opportunities for connection. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a respected and ambitious charity at a pivotal point in its development, helping shape how dementia support evolves for the future.

Demand for dementia support continues to grow, and Town Break is well placed to build on its strong foundations, deepen its impact and reach more people who need support. As Chair, you will help guide the organisation through its next chapter, ensuring it remains financially sustainable, strategically focused and true to its values.

As Chair, you will lead the Board of Trustees, work closely with the Chief Executive and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the organisation. You will help ensure Town Break continues to deliver high-quality services, maintain strong governance and respond confidently to the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its governance, legal and strategic responsibilities.
• Ensure the charity operates in line with its charitable purposes and Scottish charity law.
• Provide oversight of the organisation's long-term priorities and future development.
• Chair Board meetings and promote effective decision-making.
• Support and challenge the Chief Executive in delivering the charity's objectives.
• Ensure appropriate oversight of finance, risk, safeguarding and organisational performance.
• Promote high standards of integrity, accountability and transparency.
• Act as an ambassador for Town Break with partners, stakeholders and supporters.

Tap into IT Where You Are (tapintoit.org.uk), a Social Enterprise & charity is looking for a Digital Support Worker to join our passionate team. We provide services and support to enable older people in Edinburgh (including those with additional support needs) to access the benefits of the internet and technology.

The role will be to provide a one to one tech support service that is tuned into the needs of older customers (post-retirement age) in their own homes, helping them to stay connected, involved, and able to do what they need to do online. It will be on a casual work basis (-dependent on clients booking appointments, not set hours) at this stage, estimated 10 hours per month for the initial 3 months but expected to increase with rising demand. Flexibility is required and you must be able to travel within Edinburgh (public transport/bike/car).

As a Trustee, you will help guide and support this important work, contributing to the strategic leadership and governance of an organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives every day. As we embark on an exciting new strategic phase, we are looking for people who are passionate about our cause and we welcome applications from both experienced Trustees and individuals new to Board roles who can demonstrate the judgement, confidence and strategic perspective required of charity Trustees.

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of being affected by crime, and we are also looking to increase the diversity of Board members. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and communities to apply for Trustee positions, as we believe that a diverse board enhances our ability to provide effective support to victims, representative of our communities.

We are particularly interested in applicants who bring strength in one or more of the following areas:

• Strategic development and organisational transformation – including shaping, delivering or governing strategy in complex or changing environments.

• Organisational sustainability – including income diversification, partnership working, or long term financial viability.

• Criminal justice system experience – policy, practice or leadership experience within justice, statutory or related public services impacting victims and witnesses.

• Charity governance and board leadership – experience as a trustee, non executive, committee chair or senior leader with a strong understanding of good governance.
