Edinburgh Young Carers (EYC) is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified applicant to join and develop our service, providing high quality support to young carers in Edinburgh between the ages of 5 and 25 years, who care for someone affected by alcohol or substance use at home.

The postholder will work alongside colleagues to raise awareness of young carers and their support needs, identify hidden young carers, carry out Young Carers Statements/Adult Carer Support Plans and provide support to ensure that young carers’ identified personal outcomes are being met, in accordance with the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and have at least 3 years’ proven experience working with children and young people, including individual and group work, as well as experience in working with those affected by parental/family substance use. Sound understanding of Child Protection and relevant legislation is also required.

VOCAL – Voice of Carers Across Lothian is a carer-led organisation providing a wide range of services to support unpaid carers across Edinburgh and Midlothian.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and capable finance professional to join our team and play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of VOCAL’s financial operations. This is a busy, varied and hands-on role, managing a variety of transactions across multiple systems with accuracy and attention to detail.

You will take ownership of key financial processes, including managing VOCAL’s finance and grants inboxes, processing invoices, expenses and payments in Xero, and reconciling income from a range of sources such as social enterprise activity and donations. You will also play an important role in supporting carers directly through the accurate and timely processing of carer grants.

Other duties include: overseeing supplier payments; bank and credit card reconciliations; and ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in line with financial controls. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, investigating and resolving queries, and support the Finance Manager with a range of other tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications and demonstrable accounts payable experience in a similar role, with the ability to manage a varied workload with confidence. You will bring a strong understanding of core accounting principles alongside hands-on experience of using financial systems—particularly Xero—and Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling you to build positive working relationships and respond effectively to queries. You will be equally comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team, contributing to a collaborative and values-driven environment.

Lanarkshire Carers is recruiting a Clerical and Administration Assistant to join our professional and committed staff team working to make a positive difference delivering information, advice and outcome-based support for unpaid carers throughout Lanarkshire.

The position is full time, 35 hours per week worked flexibly to include occasional evenings and weekends, however part time hours could be considered for the right candidate. Lanarkshire Carers is a progressive organisation where you will be supported, valued and well rewarded. The salary for this role is Grade 2, SCP 5-7, £25,973 - £27,378.

The Clerical and Administration Assistant will provide support to the Business Administration team, CEO and operations of Lanarkshire Carers, contributing to the delivery of services and business requirements and working collaboratively with other team members as and when required. Our workstyles

Post holders will be based between our centres in Hamilton and Airdrie, and localities throughout Lanarkshire, with staff working on an outreach basis in community, health and social care venues across Lanarkshire Working from home/hybrid working may also be required, although this post will not be part of the hybrid working rota and will mainly work from Lanarkshire Carers Centre: Hamilton.

This role is central to strengthening and connecting Carers Trust’s organisational networks across the UK. Through the delivery of clear, consistent and engaging communications, the Communications & Engagement Officer will help members stay informed about opportunities, resources and developments across the network, while promoting

collaboration and the sharing of learning and good practice.

Working within the Network Development Team and closely alongside colleagues in Communications and Marketing, the postholder will coordinate network communications across a range of channels and audiences, helping to increase engagement with Carers Trust’s membership offers and strengthen connections between member organisations.

The role will also play an important part in ensuring members' voices, experiences and achievements are reflected across Carers Trust’s wider communications. By supporting more connected, informed and engaged networks, the postholder will contribute to stronger services and better outcomes for unpaid carers across the UK.

As the postholder you will:

• Work with subject-matter leads across Carers Trust to translate technical or organisational information into accessible, engaging content for different audiences across Carers Trust’s networks.

• Develop and implement engagement plans to promote partner participation in learning, research, campaigns or development initiatives.

• Contribute to the development of toolkits, guides and resources that support members in delivering high-quality services and in relation to identified capacity building needs.

• Contribute to evaluation activities and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
