This is a new fixed term role which will lead on the development of learning products, equipment and resources as part of our schools and family engagement programme Timesliders. Timesliders is an ambitious new concept for the Trust and this role will review and refresh our current products, as well as develop new creative, fun and exciting resources for the programme, with the aim to roll it out at other Trust properties in the future.

Based within the national Learning team, this role will work closely with the Timesliders Learning Coordinator, property teams, marketing and communications, designers, and external creatives, freelancers and contractors. This post will also work closely with Operations Managers and Visitor Services Managers at the properties to ensure staff are trained and supported in using creative learning resources to deliver the programme to schools and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Lead the development of creative products that support the delivery of Timesliders at properties across the North East.
2. Review and evaluate the creative products and equipment, in line with audience and stakeholder feedback.
3. Develop sustainable plans for creative products and equipment to ensure the longer-term delivery of Timesliders.
4. Oversee production of creative resources (e.g. puzzles, activity packs, etc), working with external contractors/agencies, as well as internal stakeholders
5. Coordinate the development of new Audio Stories, working with property teams, national teams, writer(s), studio, actors and Learning Coordinator
6. Direct the procurement of resources, props and activities – ensuring there is a standard approach across properties.
7. Create simple audio and video to support the delivery of activities (e.g. filming welcome clips for pupils)
8. Collaborate with the Trust’s marketing teams to ensure creative products are in line with Trust guidelines and branding.
9. Consult with property colleagues to assess the required props and resources, and act as main contact for reporting when they are damaged, need updated, etc.
10. Assist property colleagues in learning how to use new props, equipment and resources, through training, support and guidance.

JOB PURPOSE

The Climate & Environment team have instigated a 3 year Energy Management Improvement Project. The purpose of this project is to improve our energy management to enable the Trust to reduce energy use and contribute to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. The focus is on four key areas: metering strategy; monitoring & reporting; training & capacity building; and site-based support. A key component of this project is the metering strategy – producing an accurate list of all gas, electric and water meter locations and their status across the Trust’s entire portfolio, upgrading all meters to be automated and migrating them to a new energy management portal. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of administrative support for this aspect of the project. They will ensure all general administration is undertaken diligently, efficiently and carried out within the Trust’s procedures and policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure all general administrative tasks are undertaken efficiently, effectively and timeously, including (but not limited to):

• Meetings support (agendas, minutes, support documentation, follow up actions and next steps).
• Undertake any other duties reasonably required, as fitting the grade and scope of the role.
• Manage meter upgrade appointments process (electricity & gas) - liaise with supplier & property, ensuring everyone has relevant information
• Report regularly on progress with upgrades and summarise issues arising (which might require technical input)
• Monitor meter faults via Stark portal and instigate action then monitor progress on fault rectification
• Manage meter portfolio spreadsheet, providing regular updates on progress and where action needs to be taken
• Help arrange visits to properties (when needed) to make sure access is available and property staff are aware - set up a prioritisation process for visits
• Liaise with suppliers for solutions with meter upgrades when technical issues arise, with support from the Energy Administrator
• Generate basic consumption reports if required

This role supports that audience to feel connected and engaged with Scottish Opera, deepening their loyalty and seeking new ways to increase giving levels where possible and appropriate. It is a hands-on fundraising role, with scope to think and trial new ways of delivering supporter experience with the ultimate goal of growing the supporter base.

This role might be for you if you consider yourself a relationship fundraiser – this is a people first role where engaging with donors over the phone and face to face will be the norm. You don’t have to have a background in philanthropy, you could have experience across community fundraising, corporate partnerships, individual giving or mid-value fundraising – the most important factor is that you understand fundraising and enjoy building great relationships with supporters and donors. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to step into a management level role, or for a candidate looking to specialise in mid-value, Patrons and membership fundraising.

Working within an arts and culture charity would be helpful for the candidate to have but isn't essential.

The newly created senior role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Strategic Fundraising Director in the shaping and delivery of fundraising strategy alongside sharing the management of a portfolio of major donors, developing corporate partnerships and co-leading a small, ambitious development team. This role will work closely with team leaders across the organisation and build meaningful relationships with supporters, create compelling cases for support and drive income growth across the organisation. This position would be particularly well suited to an experienced fundraiser looking to take the next step into a senior fundraising role, with greater strategic engagement and the opportunity to influence the future direction of a major Scottish cultural institution.
