Enable Glasgow is a community based charity working with adults with learning disabilities and their carers and families in Glasgow. We are currently recruiting for a full time Night Shift Coordinator (36 hours per week) to join our skilled staff team at our Esmond Street Advanced Support Service in the Yorkhill area of the city. Esmond Street is currently the only service of its kind in the city, providing a high quality 24/7 supported living service to 22 adults with learning disabilities who are older and/or have advanced needs.

The successful candidate will play a senior and supervisory role within our night shift team at our Esmond Street Service and must have experience of support planning and review systems. Experience in a supported living setting, the ability to work on own initiative, and a positive, empowering and flexible approach to the support of people with learning disabilities are also essential. The post requires the successful candidate to be involved in the support supervision of the staff team and the coordination of duties and tasks, as well as playing a lead role in the maintenance of service standards. It is preferable to hold an appropriate qualification, or to be willing and able to achieve this within an agreed timescale. Our Night Shift Coordinators work on a shift rota basis.

We are currently recruiting for a 22 hour night shift support worker at our Balshagray House Service in the Broomhill area of the city. Balshagray is a supported community in the west end of Glasgow which provides 24-hour support and care to adults with learning disabilities. The project currently supports 17 people, 13 of whom live the main house, with another 4 living in more independent tenancies close by.

We provide 24-hour waking support to service users in the main house, most of whom have relatively complex support needs. The people who are supported by Balshagray have close links with the local community, and the project actively links those living at the unit with a local support network.

Your role will be to assist individuals with their health and wellbeing needs and to take an active role in maintaining the safety and security of the home environment. This will include participating in tasks that are supportive to the needs of the service and which assist service users in relation to keeping their home comfortable and running smoothly. Experience in residential support work is preferred. The successful applicant should also hold or be willing to work towards an SVQ Level 3 Qualification.

The Administration Coordinator will lead the administration function of the service, including maintaining recording systems, liaising with external agencies and suppliers, supporting our finance team, and directing enquires from outside bodies and the general public. They will also support the Esmond Street’s small management team.
