We provide people with chronic mental health conditions a welcoming and purposeful environment where they can build confidence, develop skills, improve wellbeing and reconnect with their communities through meaningful therapeutic work activities.
Based at The Brock Garden Centre in Broxburn and our drop-in centre Boarwood in Bathgate, our activities include horticulture, garden maintenance, landscaping projects, woodwork, crafts and community-based projects. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Facilitator who shares our values and wants to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role supporting people through meaningful daily activities that promote recovery, confidence and community integration.
We are looking for the right person first and foremost. Following appointment, a specific lead area will be agreed based on your skills, experience and interests. This could include horticulture, garden maintenance, Boarwood development, or another area of operational responsibility within The Brock.
You will work alongside service users, volunteers and colleagues to create a positive, inclusive and supportive environment where people can thrive.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate meaningful therapeutic activities for service users
- Support individuals to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing
- Help maintain a welcoming, safe and customer-friendly environment
- Work collaboratively with volunteers, staff and external partners
- Take shared responsibility for the success of the wider project
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Brock activities and services
- Support operational activities including garden maintenance, site development and project delivery
- Help identify opportunities to increase income, engagement and community impact
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has a strong understanding of the impact of chronic mental health conditions
- Enjoys working directly with people and helping them achieve their potential
- Is positive, adaptable and able to motivate others
- Works well as part of a team whilst also using their own initiative
- Can build positive relationships with a wide range of people
- Can work in both Broxburn and Bathgate on a rota basis
- Shares our belief in the power of purpose, community and meaningful activity
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to drive the project vehicle
Experience in areas such as mental health support, community work, horticulture, garden maintenance, social care, occupational therapy, education, coaching or the third sector would be welcomed, but we are primarily looking for someone whose values align with ours.

Greenspace Projects Officer

ELGT is looking to employ a practical, site-focused Greenspace Projects Officer to help deliver a wide range of environmental and landscape projects — from parks and active travel routes to habitat creation and woodland works.
You will spend a significant amount of time on site, working with contractors, solving problems and keeping projects moving.
You might be working in landscaping, construction, or environmental delivery already — and looking for a role with more purpose and variety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising contractors on site – monitoring quality, progress and performance
- Coordinating works and solving on-site issues to keep projects on track
- Supporting project planning, design development and programming
- Checking drawings, specifications and works on the ground
- Supporting contract admin, snagging and project handover
- Monitoring health & safety and compliance on site
- Working with councils, partners and communities
Who this role would suit:
Essential:
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or land-based project delivery
- Strong site supervision or contractor coordination experience
- Experience working to drawings, specifications and programmes
- Good understanding of health & safety on site
- Confidence dealing with contractors and resolving issues
Desirable:
- Green infrastructure or habitat project experience
- Public sector or funded project experience
- Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH/SSSTS/SMSTS)
In addition to the above, you should have a Driving license and access to a vehicle will be required. There may also be occasional evening or weekend work.

What the role is
This is a Part-Time (28 hrs/wk), Fixed Term post to 31 May 2029.
Reporting to the Communities Manager and working alongside the Communities team, the Make Your Mark Skills Development Officer will deliver a programme of accredited skills training focused on built, cultural and natural heritage to people facing complex barriers to employment.
The post-holder will work closely with our partners Make Your Mark and Access to Industry. This post will form part of the wider Make Your Mark programme, supporting people facing barriers to employment through training and pathways into volunteering and employment opportunities, supporting heritage volunteer organisers, and supporting sectoral research, knowledge and practice.
Delivery will focus on providing a structured programme of accredited skills training to raise awareness of the importance of heritage, support participants with the knowledge and tools to celebrate, record and preserve local heritage, and equip them with skills to take on heritage volunteering opportunities.
What you’ll need to have
We are looking for someone with experience in teaching/training/supported learning, particularly for individuals facing barriers to learning. You should have a passion for Scotland’s historic environment and an ability to use that passion to support learning and action for local heritage. Experience of working with a range of partners will be an advantage.
While the post will be based in Stirling, the training delivery location will be in Edinburgh with further locations being sought, therefore ability to travel is essential.

Are you passionate about tackling the climate crisis? We're looking for an individual who is well-organised, enthusiastic about helping people, and keen to learn, to join us as Events and Volunteer Administrator. You'll support our work to help people take action on the climate crisis, working across multiple teams, with a focus on our Community Engagement and Energy Advice Services team.
As part of this role, you'll:
- Provide day-to-day admin support for both our event outreach activity to keep our project delivery running smoothly, and for our volunteers and volunteer activities.

Are you passionate about supporting communities, building resilience and helping people prepare for and recover from flooding? Scottish Flood Forum is looking for two Community Resilience Managers to join our team and play a vital role in strengthening flood resilience across Scotland.
About the Role
As a Community Resilience Manager, you will help develop and deliver Scottish Flood Forum’s community resilience work across Scotland. You will work directly with communities and individuals at risk of flooding, supporting them to understand their flood risk, strengthen local preparedness and recover more effectively when flooding occurs.
This is a highly varied role that will involve partnership working, community engagement, project delivery and regular travel across Scotland. You will need to be comfortable working independently, responding flexibly to community needs and representing Scottish Flood Forum with professionalism and empathy.
About You
We are looking for people who are motivated by practical community action and committed to making a positive difference for those affected by flooding. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and bring a strong understanding of voluntary sector management, community engagement and partnership working.
- Experience of community engagement and working effectively with community groups
- Experience of working with local government and/or SEPA
- Strong project delivery skills and the ability to manage several priorities at once
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across organisations, communities and individuals
