As the Challenge Events & Community Fundraising Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of our team’s efforts to make sure no one affected by spina bifida or hydrocephalus feels alone.

Each year, we aim to raise over £1.2 million through multiple fundraising streams to support our essential services. We have exciting plans to grow our income and service reach over the next four years. Your mission will be to generate income by creating partnerships with charities, supporters and community groups. You will lead and line managing the team in innovation and third-party challenge events across Scotland.

You will be leading some of the most high-profile fundraising events in the country, including the Strathclyde Zipslide (formerly Zipslide the Clyde), the Falkirk Wheel Abseil and the Port of Leith Abseil.

This is an exciting and creative role where you will lead the Schools & Community Fundraiser, Events & Community Fundraiser and Fundraising Assistant to implement your joint fundraising strategies.

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Communications

Place of Work: Hybrid office/home-working model with base being the Dan Young Building, Dullatur G68 0LS. Occasional travel within Scotland to accommodate needs of fundraising.

Working Hours: The role is 35 hours across 5 days (can be discussed). Normal work hours are 9.00am to 4.30pm. The role will necessitate working some hours out with normal office hours, including evening and some weekends.

Salary: £36,139

Driving license and access to a car is essential for this role.

Responsible to: Head of Fundraising and Communications

Sight Scotland Veterans is looking for an Activity Worker / Driver to join our team at the Linburn Centre on a part-time basis (30 hours per week). In this role, you will deliver and support a varied programme of activities. You will encourage veterans to try new experiences, develop skills and engage with others in a person-centred and accessible way.

You will also contribute to planning and developing new activities and events, supporting the day-to-day running of the service and working closely with colleagues and volunteers to ensure a high standard of delivery. Driving and/or escorting duties are part of the role, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

This is a hands-on and rewarding opportunity for someone who is organised, approachable and confident in motivating others. You should have strong communication and organisational skills, good IT knowledge and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in a social care, recreational or community setting would be advantageous.

Deafblind Scotland is the specialist charity working with deafblind people or those at risk of developing a second or dual sensory loss. Our ambitions are high for people with sensory loss, particularly those who are deafblind and we are therefore at the cutting edge of finding ways to support them to lead their most meaningful lives. The project operates in Fife to support people to access their rights so they can have a better quality of life and to reduce socio-economic and health inequalities.

The project officer will work with the carers affected by sensory impairment within this project which is part of our Connect2Support Programme. Overall ensuring the carers affected by sensory impairment, who are amongst the most disadvantaged in society, are provided with specialist support which enables them & those they care for to access their rights and navigate the systems, services and support that can improve their lives.

We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer to join our Health and Safety team based in Eurocentral. The primary function of this role is to be the internal contact for all health and safety related matters. Supporting the Health and Safety Manager to develop and deliver a proactive health and safety service and providing competent technical and legal advice to all staff in a multi-site organisation and will be responsible for developing and maintaining safety management systems. Providing advice, guidance, assistance and support to all areas of the organisation in the delivery of:

• Health and Safety Policy
• Health and Safety procedures and Safe systems of work
• Compliance with health and safety legislation
• Conducting Audits, Investigations and Premises visits
• Risk Assessment
• Training

The successful candidate will be an experienced Health and Safety Officer or equivalent with experience in a range of activities including audit, investigation and able to contribute to strategy and policy development. You will also hold a NEBOSH Diploma, relevant Degree or equivalent.

A full drivers licence and access to your own car is essential as there is travel involved in this role.
