We’re hiring a dedicated Women’s Hub Support and Trauma Worker

WRASAC supported by partners across the Dundee were responsible for the setting up, development and facilitation of Dundee Women’s Hub (DWH).

The main aim of the DWH is to increase capacity and co-ordination of services to respond to the needs of the women experiencing substance use and multiple disadvantage. The hub has been working to improve access to substance use and related services for women in Dundee with the overall goal of improving physical and emotional wellbeing for women who experience substance use and multiple disadvantages.

Renfrewshire Women’s Aid, founded in 1987, is a feminist organisation which chooses to operate a Collective Management Structure and had done so since its inception. working for women, children and young people who are or have experienced domestic abuse.

Purpose Of The Post

As a collective member of Renfrewshire Women’s Aid SCIO (RWA), you will provide a holistic and flexible service through one to one and group work support to a high standard to women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse, and required to participate in all aspects of the children’s service. In addition, you will undertake and provide managerial duties as required by Renfrewshire Women’s Aid collective.

Shakti is a feminist Black Minority Ethnic voluntary organisation which offers information, advocacy, emotional/practical support and refuge/temporary accommodation to all Black Minority Ethnic women and their children, who are experiencing or fleeing domestic abuse.

Shakti is seeking to recruit an experienced Assistant Finance Worker / SMV Fund Coordinator with relevant accounting qualifications. Your role will involve assisting and supporting the lead Finance Worker to ensure the day-to-day finance and accounts tasks are carried out effectively.

The post holder must have relevant accounting qualifications; have at least 1 year experience of general accounting and reconciliation work to audit level, a sound knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts, Excel, must be IT literate, have good keyboard skills with good planning, organisational and communication skills. The post holder must have knowledge and understanding of no recourse to public funds, domestic abuse and honour-based abuse within Black Minority Ethnic communities.

This is a full-time post compromising of two roles (21 hours per week Assistant Finance Worker and 14hrs per week Supporting Migrant Women (SMV) Fund Coordinator; based in Edinburgh.

Glasgow Women’s Aid provides information, support and temporary accommodation for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. We have refuge accommodation, follow on services and outreach services both for women and children across Glasgow.

The purpose of this role is to provide therapeutic support to women experiencing domestic abuse, during their stay in refuge and as they move out into the community. This will involve providing innovative and creative 1-1 and group work support. You will provide person centred support to women as they move through their journey and will advocate to make sure that women’s voices are heard and their needs are met.

It is essential that you have experience of providing support to women who have experienced gender-based violence. A suitable qualification that meets with SSSC Housing Support registration is also required (examples would be HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare). The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.
