Role
The Robertson Trust is looking for a Programmes and Practice Officer to join our Programmes and Practice team. Based primarily at Robertson House, Glasgow, with hybrid working available, this role supports the Trust to secure big change that lasts in preventing and reducing poverty and trauma in Scotland.

As a member of the team, you will support the development and delivery of our thematic work, helping to shape influencing activity, proactive programme awards and strategic relationships that contribute to long-term change across Scotland.
The Role
The Programmes and Practice Officer will support the Programmes and Practice Manager and wider organisation to develop and deliver our thematic priorities and strategic aims.
You will contribute to influencing and social change activity, support the development and management of proactive Programme Awards, build strong relationships with grantholders and stakeholders, and help strengthen the Trust's expertise, networks and connections across our thematic areas.
You will gather and apply insight to strengthen programme development and learning, contribute to meaningful participation by people with lived experience, and work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure our work remains informed, connected and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of influencing activity and social change initiatives aligned to the Trust's strategic aims
- Contribute to the development of proactive Programme Awards and thematic plans
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with grantholders, stakeholders, policy makers and decision makers
- Support the management of Programme Awards and funding relationships in line with governance arrangements and good practice
- Gather and apply insight to inform programme development and organisational learning
- Contribute to participation and engagement with people with lived experience
- Build knowledge and expertise across the Trust's thematic priorities and policy interests
- Represent the Trust externally as required and contribute to cross-cutting organisational priorities

About You
We are looking for someone with knowledge of poverty and trauma and an understanding of the third sector and independent funding landscape in Scotland and across the UK.
You will bring:
- Relevant experience of working in a field related to poverty and/or trauma
- Strong understanding of the third sector in Scotland and independent funders in Scotland and across the UK
- Experience of developing and delivering programmes of work to achieve demonstrable impact and/or influence
- An understanding of what makes for a positive funding relationship, either from a funder or funded organisation perspective
- Experience of building relationships and networks to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to think creatively and imaginatively combined with strong attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently using your own initiative
- Insight into inequality, poverty or trauma through lived, paid or voluntary experience
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to relate to people from different backgrounds
- An interest in politics and policy in Scotland and the potential to develop strong political judgement
- You will be adaptable, collaborative and aligned to the Trust's values.

Resource Planning Manager

As the Resource Planning Manager, you are responsible for understanding how work is carried out across the Trust. This includes looking at activities, processes, projects and programmes to make sure the right people and resources are available when needed.
Your main focus at the start will be on the Delivery directorate. In this area, you will design a clear and practical resource management approach that helps managers plan and use resources more effectively.
You will also work with teams across the whole Trust. Your role is to make sure each team receives the support and resources they need in a timely and efficient way, so that work can be completed smoothly and without unnecessary delays.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop clear and practical processes and procedures that support teams in sharing resources effectively. This means making sure people, skills and tools can be used across different programmes and teams in a coordinated and efficient way, helping to avoid gaps or duplication.
- Lead on embedding the Access Resource Planner across the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. You will act as the main point of contact for the system and support others in using it effectively, helping to ensure it becomes a trusted and widely used tool.
- Designing simple and effective processes that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and minimise delays caused by resources not being used well. This will help projects run more smoothly and avoid common challenges that slow progress.
- Track and report on how resources are used. By looking at past decisions and identifying patterns or trends, you will support better planning and forecasting for future projects.
- Design and put into place a clear resource management framework. This framework will guide how resources are planned, allocated and reviewed, helping teams work in a more coordinated and consistent way across the Trust.
This role would be ideal someone who likes bringing structure and clarity to complex work and enjoys understanding how different pieces fit together. It would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively across teams, and feels motivated by improving how things are organised so that work runs smoothly and efficiently.

Glasgow East End Community Carers vision is to relieve the needs of individuals resident in the east end of Glasgow and suffering from any mental or physical disability, illness or impairment (which may include age associated problems) and their carers.
We're looking for an experienced and proactive Hub Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our Carers’ Hub while helping us prepare for the future.
This is a key hands-on position within our organisation – The Hub Manager will lead a small team of support workers to deliver services that will improve the lives of unpaid carers in the East End of Glasgow.

About the role
Reporting to the CEO, you will work closely with the Homecare Manager to develop the organisation’s potential and expand the services on offer to carers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the provision of all services for carers provided by the Hub ensuring that the delivery of these services is to the highest standard and in accordance with the Carers’ Strategy.
- Prepare and agree with Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors Strategic and Operational Plans that prioritise work and provide performance indicators and measurable outcomes.
- Manage the identification of ways of enhancing support and service provision for carers, which are responsive to the needs of carers within the area served.
- Manage and play an active role in the Hub’s activities and events to support carers and increase awareness of the Carers Hub within the catchment area.
- Lead the promotion of increased training opportunities for carers and facilitate the delivery of training by agencies involved in supporting carers.
- Ensure all the Carers Hub employees always show a commitment to equal opportunities policies.
- Ensure the ongoing financial stability of the centre and while completing grant applications to maximise fundraising, allowing the Hub to provide more opportunities for carers.
- Manage social media and website updates as necessary and links with carers.
Maintain appropriate links with carers to ensure that they are fully informed of the service provision
Management Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment, training, and support of all paid staff within the Carers Hub.
- Ensure all records are maintained within the Carers Hub that will inform the evaluation of services in line with the needs of funders.
- Ensure that the working environment complies with Health and Safety Regulations and legal requirements and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in terms of their own safety and that of colleagues and visitors to the Carers Hub.
- Ensure all administrative systems of the office are appropriate and in place.
- Communicate with Carers’ Hub staff to ensure that personnel are fully informed and trained to enable them to carry out their job effectively.
- Participate in relevant networks to be aware of current developments with regards to carers’ needs and support both nationwide and locally
Responsibilities in respect of the Chief Executive Officer:
- Advise the Chief Executive Officer in facilitating and reviewing policy.
- Provide written reports for the Board on a bi-monthly basis.
- Facilitate links between the Chief Executive Officer and other partner agencies as appropriate.
- Undertake any other duties which assist the Chief Executive Officer to develop the Carers Hub in accordance with the aims, objectives and legal requirements of the Organisation as determined by the Board of Directors.
