Role:
This is an opportunity to come and join our team as a Residential Worker primarily based at Cauvin. Cauvin is our small, residential space that supports up to three mums and babies at any one time.
Our team work closely with mums and their babies to provide the advice and guidance they may need to build their attachment and bond with their child, to support their own individual health, wellbeing and independent living skills and ensuring that their babies own growth and developmental needs are being met. We work together with families, social work, health and other colleagues to ensure the strengths and voices of mums and babies are at the heart of all we do while the safety and welfare of the child is always maintained. We work closely with colleagues across the Trust to ensure we are taking a family and community-based approach to work and to create positive onward transitions for mothers and babies.
To support this, our residential role involves a shift pattern over a four-week rota, that requires weekend working, lone working and sleep-ins. About the role
We are looking for a proactive and relationship-focused individual to join our team as a Volunteering and Mentoring Coordinator.
This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our work with children and young people. You will work as part of our mentoring team to coordinate our mentoring provision, supporting children and young people to build confidence, develop positive relationships and improve outcomes through high-quality, volunteer-led mentoring. This includes contributing to established programmes such as intandem (for care experienced young people) and Plusone (preventative and early-intervention focussed mentoring support).
Alongside mentoring, you will play a key role in supporting and developing volunteering across YMCA Edinburgh — supporting the full volunteer journey from enquiry through to onboarding and ongoing engagement, and contributing to a positive, inclusive and welcoming volunteering culture across our services.
The role offers the opportunity to work across different parts of the organisation, building strong relationships with young people, volunteers and partners, and supporting the continued development of youth volunteering opportunities. As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to how our mentoring and volunteering work continues to evolve in response to the needs of those we connect with.

The Role
This role will lead the re-design, development, and delivery of our national phone support services. The postholder will oversee day-to-day delivery while also helping shape the next phase of the service’s development, with a strong focus on building and strengthening a sustainable volunteer-led model.
LGBT+ Helpline Scotland and our telefriending service provide vital emotional support, information, connection and reassurance to LGBTQ+ people across Scotland. For many people, these services are a lifeline, offering a safe space to talk openly, reduce isolation, and access support that understands LGBTQ+ lives and experiences.
The role combines operational coordination, volunteer development and service transformation. Alongside supporting the delivery of high-quality emotional support, the coordinator will help strengthen systems, processes, training, volunteer structures and community pathways to ensure the service remains responsive, safe and sustainable for the future.
