Main Purpose of post: To enable Church House, Bridgeton to evolve into a fully comprehensive and effective Integrated Children and Family Support Centre which will focus its activity on early intervention covering Early Years, Youth Work, and Community and Family Support and so become an even more responsive centre for Christian mission.

The aim of the Communities that Care Team is to educate the public about the reality of care (as told to us by Care Experienced people), challenge stigma around care experience, and create the conditions for children, young people, and adults with care experience to thrive.
We are seeking a passionate and talented communicator to join our Communities that Care Team as a Development Officer. Working to shape, deliver, and evaluate our work in schools nationwide, with a particular focus in Clackmannanshire, you will provide training and support to educational establishments and organisations. You will also lead on the local participation offer for Care Experienced people within Clackmannanshire; supporting, developing and facilitating our current group and considering how we grow its reach within the local authority.
You will be welcomed into the team and expected to play a key role in supporting the delivery of our wider Communities that Care work, including Care Aware workforce training to employers and organisations.
As an individual with a background working with children and young people, you are adept at creating and delivering learning, teaching, and project plans, with experience providing dynamic training to a range of audiences. Confident writing reports and evidencing practice and impact, you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop strong professional relationships. Committed to child and human rights, working inclusively, and with the belief that young people can make transformative change in their lives, you understand how structural barriers, social oppression/liberation and intersectionality shape our world. With a deep knowledge and desire to learn about the issues affecting Care Experienced people, you are keen to help create meaningful positive change, challenge stigma, and to keep The Promise.
There is an expectation that the postholder will have a regular presence within the National Office in Glasgow to connect with the wider team, and across Clackmannanshire. Home working is offered as part of our commitment to flexible working and wider travel across Scotland will be necessary. Given the remit of the role, as well as the need from team members to contribute to our diverse calendar of exciting local and national participation groups, some evening and weekend work, including overnight stays, will be necessary.
The successful candidate will be joining Who Cares? Scotland at an exciting time, when the voices of those who are in or have experienced care are growing in power, individually and collectively – bringing with them insight, challenge, hope and change. Would you like to join a vibrant, exciting team working alongside families and volunteers in North Lanarkshire?
Families Here and Now Service (FHANS) is an exciting project created in 2024 as part of the Scottish Government’s Whole Family Wellbeing Fund. This project is funded by North Lanarkshire Council providing holistic support for the whole family in local communities/hub areas.
You will play a key role in developing this service, working alongside families and community partners. The service is a collaboration between four charities: Barnardo’s, Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire, Action for Children and Impact Arts, and you will work closely with colleagues from these organisations.
This outreach support role covers the North Lanarkshire area, based in or around community hubs/schools/nurseries and family homes. The aim of the service is to enable families (pregnant and/or with children up to age 18 years/26 years for care experienced children) to access supports at the earliest possible time, ensuring a ‘whole family’ and ‘no wrong door’ approach.
The service operates 7 days a week between the hours of 8 am – 8 pm, 365 days per year and is staffed on a rota basis.
The postholder will be required to work at least one evening per week and at least one weekend in four.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a car are essential for the role. The role is initially funded until 31 March 2027.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Senior Residential Project Worker to join our Pentland Way residential Service.
Barnardo's Caern Disability Services consists of three unique Projects who deliver a variety of quality services for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. We have done this for over 40 years.
At the Caern Short Breaks Service, we support up to 5 children and young people aged 5-18 by offering respite and short break packages to them and their families.
Working primarily in the residential setting you will promote the happiness, safety and welfare of the young people. You will play an active role in supporting the children and young people and their families/carers to achieve positive outcomes, as identified in the Young People's Individual Support Plans.
ABOUT YOU
Ideally you will have experience in working directly with children and young people in a residential setting. Experience in supporting children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism is required.
You will work directly with the children and young people on shift, as part of the staff team on rota. In addition to this your main role will include
The staff team across Caern Services must be fully accepting of our children and be prepared to offer them a professional relationship based on acceptance and informed by our understanding of their individual needs, wishes and experiences. We are passionate about the children and young people that we care for, showing understanding, empathy and consistency in our approach.
You will currently hold or be working towards a SVQ3 (Children and Young People) and also be willing to work towards a recognised SSSC qualification/s relevant to this role (Residential Worker with Supervisory Responsibilities).
This is a full-time position (37 hours). Working on a dayshift rota basis, you will typically work a rota of 5 out of 7 days, including weekends. You will require to be flexible for the needs of the Young People and the Service.
