About the role:
Our Youth Club has been running for over 7 years, providing a much needed safe space in the community for young people to hang out with friends, and enjoy fun activities.
The club runs on Fridays from 4.30-6pm (aged 8-11yrs) and 6.30-8pm (12-17yrs). We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment for all young people, helping them to alleviate stress from daily life and enjoy time with their peers in a non-competitive setting.
We are recruiting a Youth Worker who will join an existing team of 2 Youth Workers.
Together they will plan, organise and deliver a programme of interesting, fun activities in consultation with the young people that access the club, ensuring the young people are at the centre of their own planning.
Key Tasks include:
- Consult with young people to determine suitable activities that match their needs and interests
- Plan, implement and deliver a programme off creative activities within The Hub, with occasional activities taking place off-site
- Carry out risk assessments
- Liaise with the staff team and volunteers at the beginning of each session to ensure the planned content relates directly to the service aims and objectives
- Liaise with the Project Manager before each session regarding local issues/safety or other concerns
- Purchase/order any materials, equipment or food required for the sessions
- Administration tasks including keeping an accurate register of all attendees, processing referral forms, and gathering data from sessions in order to inform funder reporting
- Participate in team debriefs after each session to identify outcomes, highlight any issues that arose and any new potential areas of work
The successful person will:
- Have a minimum 1 year of experience in a Youth Work role
- Have a sound understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young people and their families, in particular those who are living in areas of deprivation
- Have experience of working with a wide range of young people, including those from BME communities, those who have additional support needs and those who have faced challenging life circumstances
- Be fully conversant with GIRFEC and Child Protection/Safeguarding procedures
- Have excellent English communication skills
- Have genuine enthusiasm for all elements of youth work and a desire to support young people to flourish

About Urban Uprising
Urban Uprising improves the life chances of disadvantaged young people through rock climbing.
Our programmes support physical, social and personal development, giving young people access to highly trained, positive adult role models. We work with those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to take part in activities like climbing, helping them build confidence, resilience and a sense of possibility.
We currently work in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Cambridge and Bristol, partnering with local youth organisations to reach young people experiencing disadvantage, often from deprived communities.
Our Board
Urban Uprising is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with a committed and supportive Board of Trustees drawn from a range of backgrounds.
The Board meets at least four times per year, with additional engagement and input as needed between meetings. Trustees work collaboratively with each other and the staff team to ensure strong governance, strategic direction and long-term sustainability.
The role
Trustees play a central role in the governance of Urban Uprising and support the charity’s mission and values at a strategic level.
We are looking for two people to join the Board. We are intentionally keeping this role open and skills-agnostic and are keen to hear from people who are motivated, thoughtful and care deeply about supporting young people.
No previous Trustee experience is required. Induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.

This is a creative, outward-facing role focused on growing Scotland’s Fair Trade movement.

This is a hands-on, creative role working directly with young people aged 16–24.
You’ll lead a new Fair Trade Youth Collective in Glasgow, supporting young people to build skills, design campaigns, and take action on issues like Fair Trade, climate justice and global inequality.

Youth Work Lead

We are looking for 2 Youth Work Leads to deliver youth sessions, clubs and activities for our young people and families within YoMo services across Glasgow the delivery will be varied and will always be driven by the needs of young people and the community.
There will also be the remit of devising and implementing new projects and clubs as guided by funding requirements and service user’s needs. These will include building and creating programs that provide accreditation through youth and SQA awards that build skills for young people’s future employment.
You will work in partnership with local organisations, social work and schools and build up strong positive community links. You will work to enhance the lives of young people by ensuring activities are provided to develop their mental, emotional, physical and social well-being needs.
You will have the responsibility of helping with fundraising drives and initiatives.
You will also be committed to ongoing personal development and undertake training or other professional development activities as required.
All other reasonable duties will be required to be undertaken as and when required and agreed with the Project Manager.
Full time post 35 hours per week, with hours worked varying over days, nights and weekend duties as required.
