Braveheart is a forward-thinking health promotion charity dedicated to improving wellbeing through healthy lifestyles and physical activity. Braveheart has been providing community-based health services in Forth Valley for 30 years and is well established in the locality.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Development Officer to lead and grow our footcare initiative in the Clackmannanshire and Stirling area. Braveheart’s Top Toes service is already well established in Falkirk District and your role will be to develop, co-ordinate and grow the footcare service in Clackmannanshire and Stirling. A key aspect of the role includes promoting our footcare service through outreach and marketing activities.

Our footcare clinics are delivered by a team of volunteers, and it is the Development Officers responsibility to recruit, train and support volunteers in their role. This involves organising regular training with the NHS podiatry team, mentoring and supporting volunteers, promoting good communication and holding regular volunteer team meetings.

The post is initially funded by Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership for up to 2 years, however, the aim of the socially enterprising project is that the service will become self-sustaining through the income raised.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about health promotion and community engagement with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with local community health organisations networks and knowledge of the local area will be an advantage. Barnardo's are recruiting Residential Project Worker to be involved in the delivery of our Residential Service, Linksfield, to support children and young people in a therapeutic and trauma enhanced environment set within our Residential childcare setting.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of working with young people and their families preferably within the context of care experienced. They should be passionate about improving outcomes for young people who have been placed in our care and work within a child-centred therapeutic approach underpinned by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy principals.

Role:

Based in our Wellbeing Hub in West Edinburgh, you will lead a skilled team who provide a range of practical, social and emotional 1:1, group and whole-family support to children, young people and families who have experiences of care to help them:

We work together with families, social work, health services and other colleagues to keep the strengths, aspirations and voice of children, young people and families at the heart of all we do while ensuring their safety and welfare is always maintained.

The Team Leader role is pivotal to this. Tasked with the day-to-day operations of the Community & Transition team, Wellbeing Hub and Transition flats, you are expected to lead, support and supervise a small staff team to create a culture of nurture and community for young people, young parents, babies and families.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and supervise a team delivering trauma informed, developmentally attuned direct practice
• Oversee all Wellbeing Hub activities, ensuring it remains a safe, inclusive relational and engaging environment
• Coordinate referrals, assessments and care planning using GIRFEC and rights based principles
• Strengthen connections between the Hub, residential houses, foster carers and community flats
• Oversee support being delivered to our transition flats and that it aligns with Care Inspectorate guidelines.
• Work with Team Leaders across our services to model integrated, developmentally attuned care

About Aberlour Options Fife – Glenrothes Continuing Care

At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. As such, our Options Fife Continuing Care services in Glenrothes support young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.

What we are looking for....

As someone who has built up experience working in residential childcare, you will have the confidence to guide and direct the provision of care to the children and young people in the service. You will play a pivotal role, working in partnership with parents and families to meet the emotional and physical needs of children and young people with complex disabilities.

When on shift, you will play a lead role, mentoring and supporting staff and being a role model, delivering excellence in the services we provide. You will assist in assessing, planning and delivering services, taking responsibility for ensuring that assessment and interventions are prepared, monitored and evaluated.

Engaging positively with children, young people and families you will plan and implement appropriate support for the children and young people. Sensitive and accurate reporting is a key responsibility and so you will have good written communication skills and the ability to learn how to use effectively, Aberlour’s recording system: Dynamics.

This role offers the opportunity to consolidate and build on your experience combined with the ability to enhance your skills and knowledge through training, for example, in Dyadic Developmental Practice.

As part of the management team you will play an active role in ensuring that shift duties are delegated and completed in accordance with service guidance.

Senior Young People’s Workers will work a Residential Rota 2.5 x 12.5 hours shift direct care of their role on shift and 0.5 x 12.5 hours of their time working alongside the Service Manager on operational tasks and standardising practice. Overnight sleep ins are part of the role, alongside an awake member of night staff.
