We’ve been operating for over 12 years as the UK’s first city-based community-owned Greengrocer shop and are now seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Full-time Shop Manager.

Home-Start Clackmannanshire is a long standing, dynamic charity, striving to ensure every young child (under 12) has the best possible start in life locally. Raising a family has never been easy; our trained volunteers and staff are there to support families through challenging times.

Purpose of the job:

We are looking for a Retail and Volunteer Supervisor to join our team of volunteers and Retail & Enterprise Manager at our shop on Alloa High Street. The successful candidate will provide day to day management of the shop on their working days, providing effective support for our team of dedicated volunteers, and supporting the recruitment, induction, and on-going training of volunteers.

The post holder will ensure appropriate standards of security and health and safety in the shop and be responsible for effective management of stock to provide a high-quality retail experience, and meet ambitious sales targets.

CHAS shops are a fast-paced, busy retail environment, you’ll need stamina to lead and support a strong team of dynamic volunteers and to manage a large volume of donations to help keep our shops beautifully stocked.

Key responsibilities, reporting to the Shop Manager you will:

• Provide CHAS customers with excellent service and the best in-store experience to help maximise sales, donations and the profitability of the shop
• Manage stock processes to ensure correct density levels, processing to agreed quality and rotation so that stock moves quickly
• Help to maintain a high standard of visual merchandising, display and housekeeping standards throughout the shop
• Ensure the smooth operational running of the shop
• Be a brand ambassador for CHAS promoting and bringing to life the communication of key activities and messages to the customer

Ideal candidate:

• Have a proven track record in retail, with previous leadership, customer service and visual merchandising experience
• Be enthusiastic and energetic, passionate about the values, vision and purpose of CHAS
• Enjoy working independently and collaborating as part of a team
• Have excellent communication and inter-personal skills to build effective relationships with staff, volunteers and the general public
• A creative thinker, who uses their initiative to find the best possible solution in every situation

Helping Hands provides practical assistance within the homes of our clients as well as a regular shopping service and a wheelchair loan service.

We are looking for a motivated and organised project Co-ordinator to support the delivery of our essential services. The role involves supporting staff, managing the day-to-day running of the project, as well as working with clients and partner agencies, and contributing to service development and grant applications.

You will have experience working with the general public, confidence supporting colleagues, a good understanding of safeguarding and risk, and be comfortable with admin tasks, IT systems, and databases. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and an empathetic approach are essential.
