The National Trust for Scotland is looking for up to five members to join its Board from this September.

Our Trustees play a vital role in guiding the organisation, and together their collective expertise reflects the breadth and diversity of the Trust’s work.

This year, we are inviting applications from people with experience in the following fields:

• collections management;
• commercial and entrepreneurial activities in a consumer environment;
• commercial property and estate management;
• gardens and horticulture; and
• legal expertise

With major projects underway across our properties and as we look ahead to our Centenary in 2031, this is an exciting time to contribute to shaping the future of Scotland’s most treasured places.

Boom! Community Arts are currently seeking new volunteers to join our Board of Trustees.

In line with our new 2026-2029 strategy, and following a skills audit of the current board, we would be particularly interested to talk to those with any of the following skills & experience:

• Developing membership programmes
• Community / Participatory Arts (practice or management, including regulatory framework)
• Social enterprise models / non-grant-related income generation
• Marketing
• Organisational growth

In addition, experience of comms, data management/data protection, finance, and a connection to North Glasgow would also be of value.

About Boom!

Boom! is a small charity working primarily in the North of Glasgow, delivering community art workshops and engaging in local events. Our mission, to“engage with communities to deliver creative, exciting, and accessible arts projects that enrich lives and strengthen communities”is underpinned by our values: Creativity, Working Together, Respect, Fun, and Quality.

We engage a small pool of freelance artists to deliver this work, which currently centres around three regular workshop strands (for both adults and young people), and participation in community events. Our freelance administrative staff (total 0.6 FTE) work to support delivery, fundraise, and contribute to our drive to develop new earned income streams.

About our Board

Our existing Board of four are committed, engaged, and have been with the charity since its inception in 2017; we recognise the need for, and welcome, fresh eyes and perspectives. As a small charity which has grown organically and with an eye toward sustainability, we are at a key point in our development as we seek to grow the reach and capacity of the organisation.

Expected commitment

Board meetings take place either in-person in North Glasgow or online, four times per year, and board members also contribute to or oversee other ongoing areas of work including finance, policy and strategy development, safeguarding, and project ideation. Our Chair is regularly an Elf in our annual Santa’s Saunter.

We hope that any potential candidates could commit to a 2-3 year term, and could be involved in progressing pieces of work between board meetings.

Who we are

Reeltime Music is a creative youth work charity supporting disadvantaged young people through music and the creative industries. We work in partnership to deliver high-quality workshops, projects, volunteering opportunities, and recording and rehearsal services across North Lanarkshire.

The role

As Project Officer, you will work closely with our CEO to coordinate externally funded, organisational-level projects that support Reeltime Music’s strategic ambitions.

In this role, “project” means funded programmes (e.g. Creative Scotland awards, local authority contracts, targeted funder initiatives) rather than short-term blocks of tutor-led workshops. You’ll help turn strategy into delivery, ensuring projects are well-planned, well-evidenced, and aligned with our long-term goals.

Your work will directly contribute to delivering meaningful, high-quality impact for young people and the wider community.

What you’ll do

• Coordinate externally funded projects, ensuring agreed outcomes and outputs are delivered
• Translate strategic plans into clear project plans, schedules, and workflows
• Liaise with funders, partners, tutors, and volunteers to support effective delivery
• Gather monitoring and evaluation data and produce high-quality reports for funders, the CEO, and board
• Track project budgets and support financial reporting
• Uphold safeguarding, equality, and data protection standards across all activity

About you

• Experience coordinating externally funded projects or programmes
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Confident communicator, able to work closely with senior leaders and external partners
• Comfortable with reporting, monitoring, and evidencing impact

Recruiting New Members of the Anti-Racism Observatory for Scotland (AROS) Strategic Advisory Board

Scotland is taking a vital step in tackling systemic racism with the establishment of the Anti-Racism Observatory for Scotland (AROS).

AROS has been made possible thanks to years of work by communities and experts, and has been established to support community-led efforts to tackle racism in the public sector.

To support and guide AROS through its incubation period to December 2027, a Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) has been established to provide strong, transparent external oversight. We are now recruiting two new Board members with specific skills to join this body.

We are looking for candidates who bring knowledge, skills and experience in anti-racism in the Scottish context, alongside the qualities needed to steer, provide oversight and govern the work of the Observatory. The Board specifically requires a Board member with legal expertise.
