Role

Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. Today, we operate over 70 services in communities across Scotland, providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. Together with national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, and physical activity and sport, these services inform SAMH’s policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

SAMH is dedicated to mental health and wellbeing for all: with a vision of a society where people are able to live their lives fully, regardless of present or past circumstances.

About the Role

SAMH’s dynamic Income Generation & Fundraising (IG&FR) department plays a vital part in sustaining the organisation’s ongoing growth and have a great opportunity for a trainer to deliver our products and services in the North of Scotland, including The Nook in Aberdeen, and Offshore.

You will be delivering high-quality training, engaging with diverse audiences across both onshore and offshore environments, and sharing insights that inform the development of sector-specific content. The programme aims to address the challenges faced within the industry, including remote and isolated working conditions, safety-critical cultures, workforce transitions, and the unique pressures associated with offshore life.

What we are looking for:

You will have the willingness to complete and maintain offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, OEUK medical). This role will demand travelling offshore.

This role will involve offshore travel, meaning the post holder must be willing and able to complete the required survival training (BOSIET/FOET) and offshore medical certification (OEUK) which will be provided. Offshore visits may be subject to short-notice changes, early departures and rotational working patterns while onboard. Training delivery may also require occasional work outside standard business hours to align with shift patterns.

In addition to offshore commitments, the post holder will be required to travel across Scotland to deliver training, which may include overnight stays and multi-day trips; therefore, access to your own transport is essential.

What we will provide for you

You will work in a supportive environment and will be provided with a full induction and training opportunities. You will be given the chance to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as develop professionally. Some of our benefits include;

• Reimbursement of PVG &Disclosure annual fees and costs.

• Funded continuous learning and development opportunities, access to over 100 courses online in addition to classroom and virtual training sessions

• 30 days annual leave rising to 33 after 5 years’ service (pro rata)

• 4 public holidays (pro rata)

• 2 paid wellbeing days off per year to use on what matters to you (pro rata)

• Team wellbeing budgets

• Workplace pension scheme

• Life Assurance policy

• Employee Assistance Programme
