The Presbytery of Forth Valley and Clydesdale offers an exciting opportunity to join our Presbytery team.

We are looking for a Presbytery Change and Transition Facilitator to work with congregations and groups of congregations to promote effective and creative mission through participation in the implementation of the Presbytery Mission Plan and ensure collaborative working.

The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of Church of Scotland structures (particularly at congregational and presbytery levels) and experience of local congregational life. Along with theological awareness and the ability to work across a wide-ranging theological base and to enable and empower people in the exercising of their ministries in Parishes and Presbyteries.

The candidate must be a committed Christian with an active Church connection (Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010).

The successful candidate will undertake pastoral visits to parishioners and others in the Parish, in hospital or in their homes or residential units. Share in the chaplaincy with the Parish Minister to the local schools. Play an active role in developing and maintaining links to community groups. Support all aspects of the work of the Church and assist as appropriate.

Attend Larkhall New Parish Church Kirk Session meetings. Develop ways of engaging with the community who have little or no Church connections. Conduct or assist with funerals by covering some of the associated duties including offering bereavement care. Play an active role in developing and maintaining links to community groups. Accept a commission to the General Assembly when appointed by Presbytery. Work with people to enable them to free their gifts and share their personal faith in service to the Church.

It is an essential requirement of this role that the post -holder is a committed Christian with a live Church connection which is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of Equality Act 2010.

We are looking for someone to support and develop the missional activity of Culloden & Ardersier Parish Church. You will have a passion for, and relevant experience of, outreach to the local community and working to grow children and youth ministry.

As a member of the Ministry team, this role will work to develop and lead the children’s and youth ministry within Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church actively supporting efforts in internal and external church communications.

You will have experience in children and youth ministry as well as experience of initiating, running and evaluating activities and events for children and youth. With highly developed interpersonal skills, you will also have the ability to engage with a wide range of people and ages across the community.
