SSF Education and Training Tutors are responsible for delivering high quality training and accreditations directly to young people and to practitioners working across the sport and physical activity sector.

Our training combines youth work principles and sport to develop skills and knowledge. The purpose of our training is to help practitioners to deliver inclusive, accessible and outcome focused sport and physical activity and to provide young people with opportunities to enhance their learning, future prospects and employment opportunities.

Training is delivered across Scotland and includes evening and weekend work. Tutors will deliver a blend of online and face-to-face training.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with SSF staff and other freelance tutors to deliver modules using pre-defined learning outcomes
• (alone or co-delivery).
• Plan and prepare module delivery based on the needs of the group.
• Pre-workshop preparation and venue set-up.
• Attendance at relevant development opportunities including standardisation, updates and CPD.
• Complete relevant course administration including marking and assessing SCQF accredited coursework.
• Opportunity to support and contribute to module content and resource development.
• Promote SSF Education and Training across your networks and engage with SSF social media.
• Be responsible for a safe learning environment and adhere to all health and safety, child protection and GDPR requirements.

Families Outside is looking for a Fundraising Officer with knowledge and experience of fundraising. The postholder will support our work to ensure we can continue to deliver our full range of programmes effectively whilst ensuring our long-term financial stability.

The Role

As a key member of the Families Outside team, supported by the Director of Policy & Influencing, the Fundraiser will provide a strategic approach to fundraising, working alongside the Fundraising Officer to source funding for existing staff and resources, identify and pursue ethical and diverse funding sources, and compose funding bids that support the Strategic Aims of Families Outside. The right candidate will develop and maintain relationships with funders and potential funders, including through the timely drafting and submission of comprehensive funding reports, and work across the organisation to develop relevant funding applications with colleagues for a range of projects and initiatives.

We are looking for a creative, confident, and experienced individual, ideally with a charitable organisation background, to join us to support and promote the work of Families Outside. With experience in fundraising and relationship management, you will be able to support the identification, contact, and development of new funding relationships and to manage existing ones. The Caseworker will support Patricia to be an active, impactful and approachable MP. You will provide information, advice and support to local people on a wide range of local, national and international issues.

Managing a large caseload to help to respond to issues raised by constituents by phone, email, social media or face to face, you will be required to communicate with a range of stakeholders including government departments, the voluntary sector, and other organisations.

You will join a small constituency office team, including a full time and part time Caseworker, a Constituency Support Officer and an Office Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage constituent casework, received by phone, email, social media or face to face - acknowledging receipt of enquiries, gathering relevant information, and corresponding with government departments and other agencies and organisations as appropriate
• Attend and assist with MP constituency advice surgeries and other relevant meetings, following up as appropriate
• Draft responses to constituents and ensure all cases are dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and in line with the MP’s policies
• Log and monitor all cases, ensuring that progress is tracked, and actions are completed
• Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce information and reports to inform ongoing work
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with data protection legislation
• Some work outside of normal working hours may be required, particularly for MP advice surgeries, and occasional work travel
